China needs to expand the number of its nuclear warheads to 1,000 in a relatively short time. It needs to have at least 100 Dongfeng-41 strategic missiles. We are a peace-loving nation and have committed to never being the first to use nuclear weapons, but we need a larger nuclear arsenal to curb US strategic ambitions and impulses toward China. Maybe we have to deal with challenges with stronger determination in the near future, which requires the support of the Dongfeng and Julang missiles.
Don't be naïve. Don't assume that nuclear warheads are useless. In fact, they are being used every day as a deterrent to shape the attitudes of US elites toward China. Some Chinese experts say we don't need more nuclear weapons, I think they are as naïve as children.
Some people may call me a"war monger" because I want the country to have more nuclear warheads. They should instead give this label to US politicians who are openly hostile to China. I always hope China and the US can get along with each other, but peaceful coexistence between the two countries is not a thing that can be begged for; it's shaped by strategic tools. This is particularly true as we are facing an increasingly irrational US, which only believes in strength. We don't have much time debating the need for increased nuclear warheads, we just need to accelerate the steps that make it happen.
------------
There is a consensus emerging among Chinese strategic planners that we need to radically overhaul our nuclear deterrence. It's obvious if you read Chinese media, now it's also trickling into English media like GT. Right now we can wipe out a handful of US cities in a second strike, NY, LA, DC, Chicago, etc. no problem, but beyond that is uncertain as it depends on the survival rate of our arsenal after first strike and the effectiveness of US ABM systems. For proper deterrence, we need the ability to wipe out every man, woman and child in the US, all 330M of them. Hope our enemies never forget: their continued life on earth comes from the charity, mercy and benevolence we show them, so they should be grateful, otherwise we can revoke their permission to live at any time

Well, in that case EVERY country has the right to prevent war, if you know what I mean. It shouldn't be a privilege for just a few countries with very bloody pasts and questionable presents. Except for our brothers Pakistan of course.
China doesn't need such a large nuclear arsenal ... if anything that would arouse much greater suspicion towards them ...Just like any other industry, nuclear industry capacity in China account for roughly 50% of the world, so if China want to increase their nuclear arsenal, it will be quick and massive.
I think at this stage China should start a nuclear arms race, at the height of the cold war, Soviet Union manage to maintain a nuclear force with 30,000 warheads at a total TNT equivalent of over 10 billion tonnes.
Measuring by industrial output and capacity, China's economy size is at least 5x of the peak of Soviet Union, so I don't see maintain the same scale of nuclear arsenal of the Soviet during cold war should have any problem with China's economy.
I don't think those countries were even close to ever weaponizing uranium for a nuclear weapon thoughI agree. But I prefer what South America has done. They voluntarily gave up all their nuke programmes. As did South Africa. And those two continents are nuke free.
Even if they were going to increase the nuclear arsenal they would never reveal this in public ... it would only increase tensions and possibly lead other countries to increase their respective arsenals. Any increase would be secret. That may be the announcement before the annual session in late May. I think this will be an important session, something big may come after it.
haha, we like Pho, I ate Pho every week.Ok but pls don’t nuke little Saigon.
The survivors want pho soup.
This reflects very badly on China though. How would China respond if the US did these dangerous actions towards Chinese pilots or vessels operating in the area? Definitely not an area for China to brag about here ... there's a difference between FONAP patrols and shooting lazers at aircraft.
china not has much allies in world just like russia so they have to rely on nukes to deter not only u.s but also their allies ,u.s has advantage over china because of coalition nations which provide bases to them.russia has kept more nukes to deter europe and u.s simultaneously to ensure Mutual destruction of u.s and europe at same time, china also needs to follow similar policy to ensure Mutual destruction of any country supporting u.s in addition to u.s
I'm sorry but your evidence is outlandish ... what is your proof for this. The actions you describe above are clearly initiated by the Chinese ...So you expect Chinese to fire missile or naval gun to chase American out of Chinese water as more professional?
You think American are very professional? They will cut your heading or even direct their plane in near dangerous collision to provoke you. And when you start defensive posture, they will record down your action and claim its Chinese who first act aggressive first.
Tbh China probably has already near 1000 nukes ... you can have a rough estimate how many warheads it has given the number of DF-31AG and DF-41 missiles that have been produced. If I am not mistaken, the DF-41 can have 10-12 warheads, which even if some of them are dummies is still a lot of firepower.Mainly according to need, the maximum should not exceed 1000.
China must guarantee that it can hit 10 cities in another country under any circumstances. So we can avoid a nuclear attack.
