What's new

China needs to be more vocal in support of Rohingyas: Bangladesh

Why you let the burmese to persecute the Kokang Chinese? Specially when you have the means to stop it? Why CCP thinks, material interest is everything, human life is nothing? When China will start valuing human life and dignity over petty interest? You may attain number one position in the world in economy or military, but you will not earn any respect in the world, countries around the world will still look towards USA for guidance and mediation and will identify China as a self serving monster looking for only exploitation of the world's resources.

Don't Mind for I am commenting on your post,

you are toooooooooo Genuinely Replying which is Killer Mistake as per China (CCP)

That IS how the world works, geopolitics never had anything to do with morality, only national interests.

None of those wars you described were done for selfless reasons, and they all killed large numbers of people on the other side. Which is hardly moral in any case.
Nation itself is an arbitrary creation so are the national interest.I am not sure, current nation states will survive another 200 years. There is one thing which triumph petty national interest, that is global interest. There are many things in the world which are done for universal good, not just for national interest.Geneva convention,Red Cross,UN are created to look after the all people in the world, not just the citizen within my border. Those who don't care about the death of 1 million people outside the border, it is very much possible that they also don't care about death of 1 million people inside the border.Tell me one thing, according to national interest theory, you would have cared about Kokang Chinese, if they were living inside the Chinese border, but wouldn't if they were living outside of that imaginary line? And are willing to sacrifice them to get some benefit from burmese. How much logical is this position?

Well that is simply not how the world works. Did your USA obey the United Nations when it came to invading Iraq, or did they ignore it?

In geopolitics, countries seek to further their own national interests. Bangladesh included, as we have seen they are even trying to throw the Rohingya back to Myanmar where they will be killed.

As for the Kokang, they are not Chinese citizens. Which makes all the difference in the world, as we saw.

.
since once country's interests comes first the rest later.
Not at the expense of human life.According to this theory,Bangladesh should not have sheltered the Refugee because it is harming our national interest(draining national resources without any benefit). But we have done the right thing by not looking at petty national interest.

That was the heartless witch Hasina before BD
people power forced her to change her mind.

Except that BD is not giving the Rohingya citizenship of Bangladesh. They have put them in camps and travel banned them, which means they still intend to return them to Myanmar, even though Myanmar refuses to recognize them as Burmese citizens, unlike the Kokang who are recognized as Burmese citizens.

If they are sent back to Myanmar and they are not recognized as citizens, guess what will happen?

Bangladesh let the Rohingya stay in refugee camps because they had no other option, same as what China did for the Kokang refugees who came across the border. But neither country is giving citizenship to all those refugees, they are being returned.

I think, she herself has some mental change after seeing the burmese brutality. She even shedded tear for Rohingya.
See,Obaidul Kader getting emotional:lol:

100 percent people in Bangladesh are firmly behind Rohingya refugee.Any politician who try to do harm the Rohingya people will face public wrath and screwing in the next election. All of them now understand that including Hasina and Obaidul Kader.:D

This is definitely an humanitarian issue...but again, humanity is not a one way street. If Muslim world can not be selectively raise the issue of humanity while ignoring the humanitarian issue of other religion...That is why, you do not see any much support from West or other developed nation including China to support their cause...

In realy world, BD is completely exposed in foreign policy in this issue. BD was trying to act as swing state between India and China. For example, BD can neither be a close ally of China like Pakistan, nor could be a close ally of India...So when crisis came, neither China fully endorsed the stand of BD not India stood with BD...

BD friends ..can blame India as an excuse to hide their own weakness. But in this scenario, more than Inida, it is China who could have made more impact with this issue, did not support BD..that ruined their chance...

Now Turkey and other nations can make lot of noise about it. But technically, it will be noise only...Who knows, US and West might want to get an influence in this region through Turkey..

While I do not agree with all your points, by Indian standards your post is at least half fair.
Really the problem is the political establishment
in BD over the last nearly 30 years. BD has alternated between two weak female leaders that
do not understand that without a strong military,
then everything else is compromised.
Myanmar naturally should be militarily dominated by BD that has 3.5X GDP but it has better and more numerous weapons on both land and air than BD!
Hope this incident changes the character of BD politics and the decision is made to have a significantly more powerful military than Myanmar permanently.

There're at least 3 facts about this crisis.

1, The ethnicity collision has a root at least as early
as when British colonized Bangla and Myanmar, or in a shorter timeline, at least from WWII when Japanese invaded Myanmar.
2, The immediate trigger of this issue is ARSA proactively attacked MM police.
3, There're numerous Rohingyas refugees fled into BD.

I don't consider China's response have any fault, for 2, support MM government, definitely. for 3, already deliver aid to refugee and didn't veto in latest announcement of UNSC.

This new round of crisis is apparently triggered by ARSA after careful calculation. ARSA leaders clearly understand the reaction from MM military if they proactively attack MM police stations, their goal is very clear, recruit Rohingya militants in the refugee, recruit Jihadist in South Asian. Furthermore, they clearly understand they have no any hope to survive in MM, they have to root BD, and filtrate into India, a total population of 350 million Muslim provide a nice environment for them to blend into civilian and execute a sustainable recruitment of militants.

The real threat to BD is ARSA, Dhaka terrorist attack in 2016 is already a signal of infiltration of ISIS. I believe BD government don't desire to gift India a nice pretext to directly interfere its own internal security affair.

Chinese response was measured and good. Thanks for this analysis, but the BD people here will only get angered at it or ignore it.

Also @Chinese-Dragon you are correct, people want China to be selectively globalist in action (and they completely ignored their own hypocrisy past and present)....China is having none of it and should continue that route.

Chinese investment and military cooperation with Myanmar will continue big time. China knows the big picture well. It is unseemly for a dragon to wade into a pit of vipers anyway (when everyone of similar size watching from afar too) thinking it can separate them and get them to play nice....and come out unscathed in the end. Can anyone tell me why China should stop being large-scale pragmatic and be narrow toss-coin emotional instead?

No, the root of everything is the MM refusal of accepting the Arakan Muslims as the citizens of MM. ARSA is the product of MM xenophobia to people who do not look alike. But, Rohingya Muslims have been living in Arakan for Centuries, and the British joined Arakan with Burma only in 1937. How come, when the Burmese themselves are foreigners in Arakan, but they are expelling its native sons?

I didn't say who is 'native' or who is not. I'm only sure that point 1 is a historical issue, AT LEAST from British colonization era, or WWII. This indicate that there's no an easy solution to this problem. e.g. Palestine vs Israel.

Funny thing is where is the powerful oic? Muslim brotherhood, leader of the Muslim world Turkey? KSA? Indonesia? MUSLIM don't care for other Muslim? Why non Muslim countries need to help Rohingya Muslim? It's time to stop relying on non Muslim countries for muslim issue.

All muslim countires are very small in terms of population, size and economy. All the super powers including China is non muslim. These small countries cant do nothing unless China favors a fair solution and want a prosperous Burma.

Combined Muslim countries with 1.7 billion people should be rich. I guess it's up to the white man to come save you Rohingya.
