This is the main point, but indians are dancing at chinese disengagement and going back 2kms, not asking why IA have to go back 2kms too. Its a clear defeat, in negotiations, India accepted galwan valley belong to china and thus china agreed to disengage.

Basically China entered 60sqkm deep and went back 2km. Translates into India first loosing 60sqkm of occupied Ladakh and then making 2 more km as neutral territory.

To summarize China liberated about 58sqkm of territory which was under Bharti occupation and China forced bhartis to make 4km of the Indian occupied Ladakh to become neutral bufferzone.
