Pak-China-Afghan-Tajik alliance? Good progress!

Pakistan, China, Afghanistan and Tajikistan finally unveiled their Quadrilateral Counterterrorism Alliance on Wednesday.

The new four-nation counterterrorism alliance is officially known as Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination mechanism (QCCM). Top commanders from the participating nations gathered in Urumqi, China for the inaugural meeting. An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement read,

The inaugural high-level meeting on Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism in counterterrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan armed forces/militaries was held in Urumqi, Xingjian, China on 3rd August, 2016.​

The meeting on the inaugural ceremony of the four-nation counterterrorism alliance was attended by Qadam Shah Shahim, CGS Afghan National Army; General Fang Fenghui, Chief of Joint Staff Department of Central Military Commission; General Raheel Sharif, CoAS Pakistan Army; and Major General E. A. Cobidrzoda, First Deputy Defence Minister and CGS Tajikistan armed forces.

The QCCM was primarily Chinese brainchild however, General Sharif contributed actively to the cause. Given Pakistan’s operations against terrorist (Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Operation Karachi, etc.) General Sharif made serious efforts to bring this counterterrorism alliance to realization. He visited Afghanistan and Tajikistan in March for the same purpose. General Fenghui joined him in Kabul during the visit in March to promote the alliance. An official statement read,

The participants unanimously agreed that terrorism and extremism are a serious threat to regional stability… [The participants] reiterated to cooperate for tackling these forces for peace and stability of all member countries.​

Under the QCCM arrangement, the four nations will cooperate in counterterrorism situation evaluation, intelligence sharing, capacity building, clue verification, joint training exercises and personnel training.

The four-nation counterterrorism alliance would work through consensus and it was clarified that it was not targeted against any one state or international organization.

Afghanistan is 90% sunni. Afghans are savage warlords. If Iran tried doing same stunt like it did in Iraq or Bahrain. Shia minority in Afghanistan will get annihilated.

On topic hope this QCCM thing deliver some tangible results, eliminate terror cells (e.g. ETIM), rebuild local order, improve trade route and regional security! China is a key stakeholder in Afghanistan alone:

• Electricity-generation projects, for mining and extractions purpose.
• A freight railroad passing from western China through Tajikistan and Afghanistan to Pakistan (connected with future CPEC).
• Touted to be the largest undeveloped copper field in the world (worth $88 billions), the Aynak copper field situated in the Logar province in central-east Afghanistan became the largest foreign direct investment ($3.5 billion) in the history of Afghanistan. The project is run by China Metallurgical Group Corp (中国冶金科工集团有限公司). On a side note, China consumes around 57% of world's total copper output, used to import almost entirely from southern hemisphere e.g. Chile, Australia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Argentine, Brazil.
• The Hajigak project, a two billion-tonne deposit of high-grade iron ore in the central province of Bamiyan. Afghanistan is home to large iron ore deposits stretching across Herat and the Panjsher Valley
• The China National Petroleum Company has started developing oil fields in the Amu Darya basin. In addition to that, basin in Mazar-e-Sharif is under exploration. Unexplored Afghan oil reserves now standing at 1,596 million barrels, and natural gas reserves placed at 15,687 trillion cubic feet.
• Gold reserves in the northern provinces of Badakshan, Takhar and Ghazni.

Agree,.. afghans should be excluded as Indians , US, Israel.. all are operating n exporting terrorism through Afghanistan. N Afghans loyalties lie with India, whonever had gud relations with China n Pak
