The netizen just upload this live video shoot by their phone, this is a very good answer to the pathetic nuke threat from our south neighbour tiny and stone age nuke arsenal :enjoy:

Meanwhile another picture from weibo just show PLA armed force just stated their words in front of the the letter of challenge, this is just a typical rites of war before PLA soldiers enter battlefield, althrough this war will be rather very one-sided.:enjoy:

Of cause China have zero reason to withdraw, it is india's invasion to indisputable terrority of China, why China withdraw our troop, instead we should send our troop to kick them out and teach them a bloody lesson on the outcome of trying to mess with China.

I dont know, there is no official news on this missile-defence test yet, just netizen's video. Could be KT series or HQ-19/29 etc.
Why are normal civilians allowed to take pics of sensitive missile test?

Why are normal civilians allowed to take pics of sensitive missile test?

The range to intercept an ICBM is pretty wide, and many people can see it far away.

Last time when China tested the MIRVed HGV warheads, the covered area was like 120,000 km^2.

Any word on what interceptor was used?

Presumably the DN-3, some kind of KKV or MKV.

.
I did not see any evidence of intercept in the provided video; no news of this test on the web so far.

Where is the evidence for actual interception?

For example, here is a recent interception of a DF-26 class missile by THAAD:

They are supposedly "scripted for success" in [yellow journalism] articles only. Funny that no evidence of such scripting is provided by such claimants.

Live-fire events represent realistic testing scenarios, designed to simulate battlefield conditions. If a 'weapon system' is demonstrating good results in live-fire testing scenarios, it is likely to demonstrate good results in actual combat.

Just look at the performance of PAC-3 systems in Saudi Arabia and Iraq - they have performed very well in combat situations.

Comments from actual professionals involved:

"All our systems performed exactly as designed," he said, adding that the test was "very realistic." (Jim Syring, head of US Missile Defense Agency)

"Everything we did was operationally realistic," Syring told reporters, adding that "decoys" were deployed by the target ICBM to make the test more realistic.

He said that the test ICBM "flew at a higher altitude and a longer range and a higher velocity than any other target we've flown to date." (Jim Syring, head of US Missile Defense Agency)

Do you even know the meaning of midcourse! You guys have short hands but big mouths, we are occupying your land and you are shouting on online forums. Cowards. :P Any nothing expected from a country where social media is banned!

This is a mid course weapon capable of hitting missiles at 150 km altitude!

Then expect thermonuclear fission going on your home! :D

A "midcourse" interception involves any intercept that occurs during the target missile's coasting stage, during which its altitude is the highest. Thus, the altitude of such intercepts depends entirely on the nature of the target missile (i.e. SRBM, IRBM, ICBM, etc.).

If the altitude of intercept occurred, for example's sake, at 100 km, it would still technically count as a "midcourse interception" if the target missile happened to be a SRBM whose apogee is roughly 100 km.

I did not see any evidence of intercept in the provided video; no news of this test on the web so far.

No news reports, but the issued NOTAM matches closely with those of previous ABM tests. Another possibility would be a sounding rocket test, but the Chinese have been known to disguise high-altitude ABM tests as such in the past.

'And if you look to your right you'll see a Chinese anti-ballistic missile coming towards us': Stunned pilot photographs launch of hypersonic weapon which then flies right over his plane

The breath-taking moment that an anti-ballistic missile was launched into the night sky has been caught on camera by a stunned pilot, who described it as a 'once in a lifetime event'.

Dutch Pilot Christiaan van Heijst, 34, cannot resist pulling his camera out whenever possible in the cockpit of a Boeing 747-8 Freighter.

He took these breath-taking photos during a flight from Hong Kong to Baku in Azerbaijan on Sunday on an airway heading over the Himalayas.

Van Heijst's freighter aircraft was flying at over 32,000 feet when the missile blasted past overhead

The plane was flying at 32,100ft roughly one hour after the sun had set below the horizon when an alarming bright blast erupted.

Christiaan said: 'Suddenly we noticed a very bright spot on the horizon that rapidly grew in size and altitude.

'It looked like a balloon or strange cloud at first, but a few seconds later I recognised it as the contrail of a rocket or missile that was shot up in the sky.

'I have seen it many times before on video and photos, and noticed the typical speed and characteristics of such a trail.

Van Heijst explained that as far as he knew, their aircraft was the only one in the vicinity at the time

The image on the left shows the second stage of the rocket igniting, with the picture on the right capturing the contrail of the high altitude missile

'Roughly one minute later I noticed the first balloon was still growing but seemed to be rounded off on the top while a second contrail started just above the first one.

'I figured this was the second stage of a rocket igniting and this confirmed my idea that we were witnessing a very powerful missile being launched.

'We knew certain parts of the Chinese airspace north and south of our route were closed but no details were given to us and we were not informed there was supposed to be missile launch so the event took us by surprise.

Van Heijst has taken hundreds of stunning images from cockpits - but this was one of the most surprising, and alarming

42B2461200000578-4731404-image-a-43_1501061258589.jpg

The missile was launched from a restricted area to the north of Van Heijst's flight path

The flight crew gaze at the missile launch on the horizon as their plane makes its way to Azerbaijan

'The airway and airspace where we flew was open and also the air traffic control gave us no prior warning.

'Later I found out that it was a Chinese test for an anti-ballistic missile system they are creating which are basically missiles to shoot other missiles out of the sky.

'Also, I learned that the restricted area north of our route was the launch site and the restricted areas south of our route were the places where the debris was expected to fall back to earth.

'The rocket basically flew right over us at very high altitude. For as far as we know, we were one of the very few - if not only - aircraft to fly there at that time. It was a once in a lifetime event.'
