China-Japan

Writing in written Cantonese is neither proper nor official. It is like writing in slang/colloquial.

It is all based on Chinese characters. You have wenyan and baihua and other different forms, but at the end of the day it is all Chinese.

I don't buy the western BS that different dialects of Chinese are different languages.

Baihua was not official nor standarized until the 1920s when it replaced wenyan. Before that, it was "slang/colloquial". According to that view only Wenyan is proper.

But after 1920 it was standardized.

And we're living in 2013 now.

Obviously.

The only difference is that Baihua has state endorsement and written Cantonese doesn't. That does not detract from the fact that written Baihua expresses only Standard Mandarin and not any other dialect. Baihua is not meant to represent any other dialect other than Mandarin, the dialects do not share a single written language.

Japanese foods are expensive and most terrible if compared to others in the region. Unless you like to eat sushi all the time.

Yes, not only terrible, also they eat fresh and cold food. Sashimi and sushi.

Once uppon the time, they came to China to learn and absorbed our culture but afraid of been sinicized. and try to distance from us..now when walk on street, we're totally aliens for each other....what I know that still true is they're Chopsticks like us :D but no more than that
I wonder why Japanese people don´t like Chinese and vice versa? After all both are very similar. Well, I understand why Chinese hate them because of Japan´s wartime in the WWII.

Unfavorable Views of China (2009)[9]
Negative views of China are especially strong in Japan, interesting: Vietnam is not on the list

this data is outdated. According to new poll, both more than 90% Chinese and Japanese hold unfavorable view toward each other.

China 6, Pakistan 3.....That's really embarrassing

Negative news and views are growing these days, I saw many protest movement happened in Vietnam from news these years.

That's sad news. Since we are neighbors, we share many common things. We have closer cultural and economy connections, however, at the same time we cannot avoid SCS dispute.

Unlike Vietnam and other south Asian countries that surrendered so easily to Japanese domination, Chineses has never accepted their domination in Asia,we fought fiercely and dragged them in their imperial conquest, I think that's why they're so p1ss against us.

There are basically two "family" of Japanese, the aboriginals and Chinese blood.

The aboriginals are more hairy. The mutts are hard to tell. I dare the "experts" to tell the difference between the Chinese (Han), the Koreans and Japanese. In most cases, you can't tell them apart by looking.

The Japanese family names are compound names. In other words, two characters instead of single like most Chinese and Korean names. There are exceptions.

Chinese basically gave birth to Japan:

Language - Japan use Kanji, literally means Han writing
National chess game - Go. In Chinese it is wéiqí, created 2500 years ago.
Religion - Zen. Ch'an from China - the amalgamation of Buddism and Daoism.
Art - Tea Ceremony. Chinese
Bonzai - penjing in Chinese
Calligraphy. Chinese
Painting. Chinese
Food- Chop sticks - Chinese
Bowls, Kitchen utensils - Chinese
Ramen, Japanese noddles - Chinese

Japanese drums, ceremony bells, just to name a few.

Yes, but are Koreans any different from Chinese? How do you draw the line? The line as I can tell is blurry.

As far as I know

Korean blood line are mixture of Turgus and Han Chinese.

South Korea maternal line is 50% Turgus and 10% Han Chinese. Paternal line is 30% Turgus and 40% Han Chinese.

If you truly can tell the Koreans and Chinese apart, more power to you.

Culturally and visually, I can't tell the difference.

They even named their capital Han City (Seoul).
