What I find fascinating/amusing is that high Chinese IQ has not yet translated into political change towards individual freedom. At some point, I think, it must. Also, we have yet to see any significant technological advances due to high Chinese IQ. Perhaps these two observations are linked. That is, Chinese technological advances will only come with INDIVIDUAL CHINESE FREEDOM .....

What matters is what you do with that IQ. What's the point of having it if it's not being used.

it depends of your origins (here in Europe at least, poor or rich, ....)
the smartest guys can get some troubles and jealousy
in many countries, it is not important to see the smartest people but give a chance to the people who are born in already successful family
and when you are much more smart than your boss, it is somewhat hard to keep the job and i guess many smart guys finish with troubles
this is my theory. lol

just say you're right but this is not only matter of will, in most countries (not all countries give opportunities like USA in this matter)

yup they end up spending all their time on PDF rather than working

on topic countries that want to raise their IQ perhaps should be looking else where.

Even if they pull off the imposible and find similarities in the genes of the 200 brightest and IF they can alter those genes with out screwing up 100 other things you might get a few more points of IQ.

On the other hand you make sure mothers get folate, people dont screw thier cousins, children get a health diet and go to school you could raise the IQ by 50

The down side would you want to look like the worlds most intelligent men?

This can turn out really bad if not done right. It took hundreds of years to get racism and sexism somewhat reduced...we don't want to introduced gene discrimination on top of that.

What's going to stop businesses from hiring someone that is "genetically altered" as opposed to "normal" people? Unless if its made freely available to everyone in the country, it'll just become another advantage exclusive for the very rich...and they have enough advantages as it is.

Even if its free, it has to be fiercely regulated so that people are not forced into a "genetics race" or risk becoming a second class citizen.

On the flip side...even if everyone becomes equally smart, every society still needs sweepers and garbage collectors. I can imagine the outrage when people who are equal in every way get vastly different opportunities due to luck factor alone.

I don't think IQ really so important or one group is higher than another, human are at the same level, Education and hard work more imortant

I would put higher priority on emotional quotient (EQ) or emotional intelligence (EI), than on intelligence quotient (IQ).

The payoff of improving EQ in the population are far higher than that of chasing IQ. The bonus is that a group of above-average IQ people who can actually collaborate (i.e. high EQ) would outperform high IQ loners on most tasks.

Societies with high EQ also tend to have less crime and fewer social ills.

Still i 'll never understand why so much dislike towards high IQ people,
especially they are not the ones who success and look to dominate other, in my point of view.
