China Introduces Sweeping FDI Reforms

I don't know why people have fear of competition. Competition leads to ineffiency? What the fk did I just hear of? You belong to the same groups of those anti-open and reform policy in 1978.

In a free market, competition leads to disorder or chaos, then the law makers find ways to reguate it, to counter balance the bad effect of disorder and keep the good effect alive.
Edison, you seem to be one of the smarter Chinese poster around here. Can you explain this if competition and letting foreign competition, why is Japan against this?

"Japan will come under renewed pressure to further open up its automotive and agriculture industries to global trade.."

I've asked @Nihonjin1051 but he never reply back. Japanese government know that foreign competition will kill these industries. China with only 30 years of "capitalism" want to competition in their house. Seems immature of CPC officials. Than again, I can't prove it but a few officials probably got some nice bonuses from foreign companies for this policy.

I understand your concern. There are some differences. Japan is good at those industries, they fear to lose the dominate position, the more they get, the more worried they are....China sucks at both industries, China has nothing to lose. I truly agree it's too early to open the auto field. I am hoping China automobile industry one day comes back like the mobile phone companies. I support a "broadly open" economy, with core sectors being held by the government. China did well to the finance industry.

There is grey space and corrpution in calling for bids of foreign capital, officials get fed through this. But it's still a small amount compared to what China's own businessmen have given out. It's China's own problem.

I want to make some supplement. Some of China's policies were made only by leader's mind, they never got investigated or rated before approval and reviewed afterwards. I call it lack of scientific decision making. The automibile industry is such a case. But they are correct not to open all the sectors once for all.

Exactly. Chinese Dragon and others like to make me anti China because I happen to disagree with CPC on this issue. Just because China has a handful of big international companies some deluded Chinese think they can compete with the full force of US , Japan and western Europe in an economic battle. Interesting times indeed.

Good luck to these folks.

Your viewpoints are closer to mine, bolo  but I think you also have to take it easy 8-) ( using "cockroaches" are very insulting to our Countrymen! I believe all of the above Chinese members also want China to do well; but just taking completely different viewpoints )

The disagreement is due in part to the tariff system, which the united states still imposes on Japanese manufacturing goods, ergo, automobiles et al. This is the reason why Japan requires compromise on the Americans' regarding their agricultural exports. Besides that, there's agreement on all sectors. However, I estimate that a compromise will be reached.

Additionally, Japan has a pseudo protectionist policy, but Japan has Free Trade Agreements with host of partners, including for example ASEAN, and the European Union:

ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement | Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

Japan-European Union Free Trade Agreement Free Trade Agreement

The TPP would be the next set of Trade Agreements Japan engages in with another regional bloc; in this case the one led by the United States. This is why I'm quite confident that in the future, it will only be inevitable for the Chinese to join this same milieu.

I hope our guys will get over the tantrums :-)
My post got deleted, only those who feel insecure reported it. We know who.:sarcastic:

@bolo, Chinese-Dragon is having a bad day, he is not usually like that. On topic, both argument are valid. Certain industries still need protection.
