The US should swallow their pride and asked the Chinese or Indian to help evacuate their handful of citizens left in Yemen.

Now, that would be interesting, wouldn't it?
I don't get it, they have warships everywhere around the world, why don't they evacuate Americans?

Looking at some of these pictures, some Chinese soldiers are multi-skilled. Looks like baby sitting skills are highly regarded in these situations. Where are the women soldiers?:lol::lol:

It's all good fun. Looks like the soldiers didn't mind.

Because the US Embassy already closed and all their staff already fled leaving Americans left behind to themselves. The foreign affairs spokeswoman even blame them for being in Yemen in the first place.

that's terrible. They have warships everywhere. They are in SCS, they are in Indian Ocean, they are even in their Hollywood movies, but why not go back for their nationals? Because they are Muslims, so not blood compatriots? I feel sorry for them.

What? Houthi? We kinda like Americans in WW II, sold weapons to Japan and also UK. But of course, it's about humanitarian evacuation, no matter which side is more legitimate. Thanks for their help!
Who care ? Both r not enemy for China, just let our men out there and go home.

SMART ! Future whoever take the power of Yeamn, they all will welcome China to invest there and supports.

I think they are equally bad or equally good. It's basically a war between USA/Arab vs Iran
Whatever it's not Chinese business ... hence we can develop relationships with both. Developing lcoal economy or Support arms, China can follow their wish.

English.news.cn | 2015-04-06
BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- China has moved the last batch of 24 Chinese nationals from Yemen's western port of al-Hodayda to Djibouti on Monday, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The Linyi naval vessel, which is responsible for the evacuation of the last batch of Chinese nationals and the embassy working staff, also carried 45 Sri Lanka nationals, at the request of Sri Lanka government.

Nine Chinese citizens and one Japanese citizens are expected to be evacuated from Yemen' s Socotra island later Monday aboard another Chinese naval vessel Weishanhu.

Eight Chinese national have left Yemen on board a Pakistani vessel earlier.

DJIBOUTI, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese navy ship carrying 83 Chinese and Sri Lankan nationals evacuated from Yemen arrived Tuesday morning at the Port of Djibouti.

Aboard Linyi missile frigate were the last batch of Chinese nationals and staff members of the Chinese Embassy, plus 45 Sri Lankan citizens.

It is the fourth evacuation mission organized by the Chinese government since Saudi-led coalition forces launched airstrikes against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

The vessel left Yemen's western port of al-Hodayda and arrived here after an almost 12-hour voyage.

The evacuated Chinese will travel on to China on a commercial flight later in the day.

"The security situation has worsened in Sanaa these days. There was almost constant bombing during daytime and explosions could also be heard at night ... But the moment I embarked on Linyi, my nerves were at ease. We are really grateful for what the government has done for us," an engineer from a Chinese construction company told Xinhua after getting off the ship.

Fathima Abdul Cader, a Sri Lankan woman, and her husband were also among the passengers. The 40-year-old said she had a very pleasant experience during the voyage.

"I feel so comfortable with what they have done in the ship. They provide us not only food and necessities but also entertainment. I didn't expect this. It is so nice to get to know Chinese people. Thank you, China," she said.

It is the first time that Linyi has picked up evacuees at the port of al-Hodayda, said Chinese military official Jiang Guoping. "The evacuation operation was a smooth one, thanks to thorough preparations by the Chinese Embassy in Yemen. We are pleased to see the evacuees arriving at the destination safely," he said.

The two previous evacuation missions undertaken by Linyi were both from the Port of Aden.

Another Chinese warship Weifang also participated in the evacuation efforts by the Chinese government.

China has evacuated 629 of its nationals and 279 foreign citizens from Yemen in four operations, all undertaken by vessels of the naval escort fleet patrolling the Gulf of Aden and waters around Somalia.

Given deteriorating security in Yemen, the Chinese Embassy in Yemen and the country's Consulate General Aden are closed temporarily.
