China-Cuba Cooperation & Geopolitical Ties: News & Discussions

Sort of an odd article because the United States does not have any real trade or investments with Cuba at present, and hasn't had since before I was born. That is starting to change, but it's going to take awhile.
Sooner then you think,i guess.
Im sure the Cuban Americans will make a start, very soon.

Without Chaos, there will have no much chance left for China to step into this region, the mess that left over by US in this region, China can take advantage of it by offering insensitive support and united these countries against US as American is trying to do in SCS.

actually China enabled the chaos. $50+ billion loans to Venezuela to prop up this ailing regime.

are you willing to give another $50 billion? even though Venezuela still owes you ten's of billions, and will default either this year or surely the next?? t

like I said China has it's own problems to worry about. your economy is slowing down, millions are being laid off from the coal/steel industry, housing/real estate bubble, zombie companies, tens of trillions of internal debt.

South America is a basket case and China isn't the cure.

Venezuela who owed China so much money shall repaid by allowing a Chinese naval base to host our fleet. :D

Chinese ships in Venezuela! Ya, that would be scary for America! :o:

Americans will get used of Chinese present in South America regardless if US is welcome or not in Cuba.

I think one of the reasons that an opening to Cuba is possible now is because many of the older Cuban-Americans who came here as refugees are dying off with old age and younger Cuban-Americans are far more accepting of restoring trade and relations with Cuba.

Americans will get used of Chinese present in South America regardless if US is welcome or not in Cuba.

I'm sure most Americans......won't care. Why should they? China & America are each other's largest trading partners, so why shouldn’t Chile or Argentina open more trade with China?

Doesn't matter, it's not US problem if China is willing to provide aid and if Venezuela will default it. American said the same China's activities in Africa that we're not helpful (cure) but a neo-colonizer there and then realize that we did better beyond their expectation so because dirty Americans couldn't compete with China instead they setup an AFRICOM (Africa command) to check Chinese activities there.

Why should they?? because they even care what China are doing in Africa and you think they don't care what we will do in their backyard, who had the bright idea of the Monroe doctrine ,

Ah, so Beijing is planning on turning Venezuela into a Chinese colony? o_O Because it's either that...or you don't really know what the Monroe Doctrine is.

Exactly, which is all the Chinese Navy is going to be doing in Venezuela.

No we will not turn Venezuela in to our colony but our present is to counter American influence there or let said make them less exceptionalism attitude and our navy there is going to ensure the freedom of navigation in western pacific especially the US west coast

South America is fine. Chinese meddling won't change anything.

unless you actually believe the U.S will invade a Latin American country :disagree:

we'll just watch as it self destructs from within

"counter American
influence there (Venezuela)"? Well, if you find any, let us know! :P

Of course, fair is fair...

The US and Cuba actually have quite a major trade in food and medicine, billions every year and growing

Right, food and medicine are exempt under certain conditions. We still have an embargo in place however, and that will take awhile to get rid of.

.
What an idiotic Chest thumping article? Why should the Cuba trusts US? Half a century of animosity will vapourise in 6 months of opening up?
Again Cuba suffers more than US embargo than Cuba embargo on US. The day US removes embargoes on Cuba, we will know the real situation.

I wonder what will happen first, President Trump.

or

A big, great, Trump Hotel that was agreed to in a very beneficial pro American deal?

It's time to stop the two face speeches. America trades and regularly exchanges officials with China an even bigger communist nation that has alot more differences with the US than Cuba.

Cuba isn't all that backward and fu<ked up as Rubio or Cruz want to show it to be. It's got a pretty decent advanced bio-medical industry, that has reduced the necessity of amputating limbs of diabetic patients. Vaccines that the developed world hasnt even made because the diseases dont hit their shores.

I'm not trying to be Micheal Moore here, but you might be able to catch alot more bees with honey. Lets take a look at China, before it opened up relations with the US anti-community party opponents were unheard of. Look at the thousands of Chinese students that do come to the US for studies, get immersed in American FREEDOMTM and later once their back in China create grassroot movements for greater liberties.
