. . .
I some what understand China's policy maker's point of view

i.e
  • You have a good running system (Chinese Administrative System)
  • Every thing is doing well , economy , Global relations and Local infrastructure , defence
  • All positions are posted with Good honest people

So China has decided to look for "Continuity"

If there is great level of satisfaction over all in country, due to Mega Projects, Economic focus , Space program so it makes sense why China has opted to act in such manner

Lets be real here if country is making 1.5-2.0 Trillion Surplus yearly that is great result

China now is officially #1 Nation of World

The greatest strength in Chinese system is it is created to be Adoptable to emerging needs for China, Unlike Democracy (Which is a difficult system and mostly broken) sometimes you cannot make alot of changes so it restricts you to move to a next level

The greatest thing since sliced bread. :D

The development of China is at a critical juncture and we definitely need a strong-minded leader at the apex of power for the next 20 years.

Meritocracy rules!

. .
Well, he must be one hell of an effective leader. The fact that he was able to make an entire nation bend rules for him, speaks a lot about his personality and work ethic.

Can the Chinese clone 50 Xis and send then to India????

German's rejoiced, when Adolf Hitler declared himself dictator for life. Ohh how they suffered later.

So was Lee Kuan Yew who made Singapre the No.1 best place in the world, by the way, Lee was ethnic Chinese and managed their country the Chinese way.

Dont' worry, China is not a family business like this one.

That is something Chinese would never understand, the inherent strength of democracy. For you have always been an autocracy, with no power to choose, who rule over you.

If a ruler performing, he can always be re-elected and can be re-elected umpteen number of times, till the time they perform. The moments they stop, they can be kicked out.

But never give absolute power to any individual, for absolute power corrupts absolutely.

OK, for decades the strength only lied in one family, maybe that's why India now is this strong and China is this weak. Got it.

If there is any country which has North Korea dynasty style system,( father to son/daughter to grandson), that is India.

Welcome to the Chinese Empire for making it again after a long pause. Hopefully, they won't feel lonely there for some other Empires are getting resurrected....

In democracy, progress is slow but long lasting. In dictatorship, progress is quick, but demise is even quicker.

There are umpteen number of examples in history.

How slow? Don't say a time that I won't live to see in my life time. Are you a fortune teller or something? or you only care about having a better next life?

China experieced rises and falls since the time of pyramid, other empires fell and disappeared in the history but China throughout the whole human history can always manage to rise again.

How slow...

How many centuries, did it take for US to become world superpower, after it first became a democracy.

How many decades did it take for Soviet union or 3rd Reich to become Superpowers, after they became autocracies/dictatorships.

US is still a superpower and will remain so for all foreseeable future, but where is Soviet union or 3rd Reich now?
