we must do something as Bhutan is our protectorate state, but taking cue from the past few incidents, I doubt if anything will happen.

If the Bhutan leadership is wise, they would, like the CAR, settle their border demarcation with China; border settlement will prevent Bhutan from being used as a political football by vile political forces as exemplified by this Indian news reports.

@Indo-guy

Formally speaking , Bhutan is not our Protectorate !

Yet we wield immense influence in Bhutan .

We need to counter Chinese designs ....they are good in advancing stealthily ...by blowing hot and cold .....Time to time !

We seem to have no plan to counter China in its slow and steady advances all around us !!!

And how does tiny Bhutan settle its boundary issue with mighty China ?

It will have to swallow the Plan suggested by China !

In anyways Bhutan will lose ...and indirectly India .

Although negotiations and early settlement of boundary issue is the only option left for Bhutan .

India has no interest in using Bhutan as Football ....

But the stated area of Bhutan occupied by China adjoins crucial " siliguri " sector which constitutes "Chicken's Neck". By which whole of the North east region of India is connected to Rest of the India .....Chinese occupation of this sector thus threatens security whole of the North eastern region of India .

It is for this strategic region India can't accept Chinese incursion in Bhutan....especially so when Bhutan is not able to resist China's incursion !!!

If the CAR can settle why not Bhutan? Unless India want to keep the dispute alive as an excuse; to use Bhutan as a political football as in this example.

Why India should want to keep the dispute alive ?

It is disadvantageous to India ....

If the issue is resolved ...then China won't have excuse to do incursion ....

But anyway do you think China will deal with Bhutan in fair way ?

Given China's attitude it will flex its muscle against Bhutan even during negotiations ....

China will take the crucial area adjoining Siligury sector this or that way ....

That is China's tactic....

It is win -win game for China !

Bhutan can't resist China either on negotiation table or battlefield ....

China is just exploiting Bhutan's weakness ....

It is China who is using Bhutan as football ....and not India !

Let me ask you. Did China settle their border dispute with the CAR by military means? Why not follow the CAR template and settle. Even Vietnam has settled her land border with China, why not Bhutan? Well I think it is up to the Bhutan leadership to decide what is best for Bhutan.

A) It China want not to settle issue with india.
B) China wanted to only Settle issue when they get military strong so they can get maxim land, they asked for.
C) they keep their Army busy in these things with Neighbour and telling them look who is the boss.

Indeed . Bhutan should decide what it wants for itself ....problem is that Bhutan may reluctantly agree to sacrifice its territory to keep China happy ....but India on who Bhutan depends in many ways is not ....because it compromises India's defence of North Eastern region !!!

If China can settle boundary dispute with Bhutan in legitimate and fair way ....India won't have issue .

I am not aware of specifics of CAR issue ...

But in this case China is trying to check-mate India via Bhutan ....

Do you think India should support resolution of Bhutan - China dispute in a way that will actually compromise security of conglomerate of seven north-eastern states ???

No sane country will do that !!!

Bhutan is always on our side.Indian Aryans go away.

If Bhutan was on your side , you would not have had to intrude forcefully....You would have been welcomed with open arms ....as Bhutan welcomes Indians .....without Visa !!!
