I think Hualong One may be a good addition to Pakistan's nuclear energy system, or another generation III design ACP1400, both would be good use.

indians indogenously reacters but there power output is less than 500 mw the newest one they are building has some 700 mw
we also have the ability to built reacters with output of 350-400 mw
but these are our designs and are not upto date with todays tech these nuclears deals will allow india to get the latest tech from nuclear suppliers group so they can build better and efficient reacters


soviets and later russians did offered to establish a 1000+ mw reacter in pakistan in early 90s but BB
decided to go foe france that deal never meterialized because of the sanctions

Not just reactors , we get to buy Uranium and other equipments required for nuclear reactors from other countries which was barred to us previously .

Thanks to 123 Nuclear agreement and subsequent Indian specific Safeguard Agreements with IAEA and NSG waiver , now it is a possibility .

LMAO exactly. When Pakistan has nuke reactors they are from China. When India has nuke reactors they are Indian.

All Pakistani Nuclear Power Plants are Chinese .

OTOH , Indian operate both domestic as well as foreign Nuclear Power Plants .

True ...... You can get reactors from China thanks to the grand father clause ..

But what I explained in post#19 shows that Indian can get the technology , reactors as well as Uranium from any country we want and we won't have to rely on any specific country .

India has made it own nuclear reactors (or so they say!), wants to sell them abroad and have -even- new nuclear reactors and technology based on torium!!! So what are the basis of the deal with the US? If it is to buy new reactor technologies , that means the indian reactors are inefficient and its technologies are difficient.

Indian has only developed nuclear reactors with power output less than 1000MWe .

What we are looking to buy from other countries is reactors with more than 1000Mwe output .

So different cup of tea .

Majority of Indian reactors are IPHWR 220 which produces 220MWe power output . We have 14 in operation .

We also have 2 IPHWR 540 producing 540MWe in operation .

Construction of 4 IPHWR 700 has started .......... All these are Indian reactors .

As for Pakistani reactors I don't think the capability exists as of now .

An interesting idea. It could save government a lot of money. The cost of construction of a reactor. At today's prices it may be about 4 to 6 billion dollars per 1000 MW. Would any body invest ?

I am sure private investors can do. There are many groups in Pakistan. Also Pak can welcome investment from other Muslim countries even in designing their own reactors.
