Raipur: Blood-stained uniforms and shoes of some of the CRPF personnel who were killed in the Sukma Naxal attack were on Thursday found in a garbage bin on the hospital premises, sparking outrage.

Opposition Congress leaders said it showed "insensitivity and disrespect" of the authorities and demanded an apology from the BJP government in the state.

District Congress chief Vikas Upadhyay and others visited Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital and took away the uniforms and other belongings of the jawans to the Congress office.

"We rushed there (to the hospital) after learning that the uniforms of the slain CRPF men were lying in a dustbin filled with garbage near the mortuary where their autopsies took place," Upadhyay said.

"We collected four sets of blood-stained uniforms and 10 pairs of shoes and carried those to Congress Bhawan. Later, CRPF officials came here and we handed over all the belongings to them," he added.

14 CRPF personnel, including two officers, were killed on Monday in a Naxal attack in the Chintagufa region of South Bastar's Sukma district.

Bodies of the slain personnel were airlifted and sent to their families on Wednesday.

"Chhattisgarh government should apologise to the families of martyred jawans as well as to the country for this disrespect," said state Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel.

Baghel alleged that in 2009, bodies of four state police personnel who were killed in a Maoist attack in Dantewada district had been transported in a garbage truck.

"As per the procedure, police bring back the belongings (of a deceased) following post-mortem. After receiving the information that some uniforms and belongings were found left there, CRPF officials were asked to collect them," Additional Director General of Police (anti-Naxal operations), RK Vij told PTI.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG), CRPF, Pradeep Chandra said a probe would be conducted in this regard.

Meanwhile, the dean of Ambedkar hospital, Vivek Chaudhary, said, "After a post-mortem is performed, the viscera and other remains are preserved and not kept openly.

The video that I saw today (of the blood-stained uniforms left lying in the open) is very unfortunate."

Nobody care about their sacrifice bro! To **** with their uniform. CRPF is force meant to die only....Absolutely nobody gives a shit. Not 16 men, 16 family died in this incident...
It is indeed a shameful act on behalf of the state administration!!The martyrs deserve much more respect from us but it seems that the Govt. simply doesn't care:hitwall:!!
Anyways,Sir can you please explain what exactly went wrong in this case??I mean did the Maoists get prior intelligence of the CRPF troop movement or was it a spontaneous retaliatory attack by a desperate Maoist leadership due to the large no. of surrenders in the recent month??Plus i read it some where that some CRPF officers claimed that at least 8 rebels were killed but their bodies were dragged by their comrades,is it true??

I thought the number of KIA was 14.

LOL at Congress trying to place blame on this on the BJP. That's all these clowns care about. How to sully the image of BJP. They too never gave a damn about the CRPF. The Chief Minister who is BJP is highly corrupt. Congress never did anything about it because they too are just as corrupt.

Naxals/Maoist are no joke. Sending improperly trained and armed troops to fight here is a suicide mission. If I was CPRF, I would protest not fight till they improve everything.

. . .
And still some leftist LOSERS say that no Army action is needed to kill these communist savages.

Naxalites should be dealt with with tanks, gunships, fighter jets and IFVs. Not rifle wielding CRPF soldiers who are underarmed and underprovided, and on top of that, get insulted by an increasingly soft state government.

WTF is wrong with Raman Singh? Why is he so soft on Naxals?

Soldiers sacrifice their comfort and lives for the country...They deserve all the respect...

Things were much more worse in Kashmir few years back but we controlled them without tanks, gunships & fighter jets. It was joint success of army, CRPF, BSF & also J & K police.
Things are different in naxal effected areas. We are fighting with our own citizens and If the army is deployed it would mean that the whole political system has failed. And also it is not as if the army comes and in 48 hours the problem is solved. Secondly army soldiers are trained to fight alien forces. The soldiers are trained to look at combatants as enemies & show no mercy. Such an approach causes countless problems, if used against our own people.
We should not forget one thing most of rebels come from uneducated, deprived, exploited and neglected class of society, , who, for their basic human rights and necessities, rally behind war mongering leaders. They are subjects of our own country brainwashed by treacherous figureheads for their political motives.
So, the problem is not with our paramilitary forces, they are failing because of impotence & rapacity of political decision makers. Every political party including Congress, BJP, communists & regional parties of those areas are responsible for agony & misery of CRPF personal & also of native tribals.

I don't care about uniforms or flags, those are just pieces of cloth - they can dump or burn those for all I care.

But I do care about what that represents, and the people who fight for it. I am disgusted by the fact that nobody is discussing this latest massacre of 16 CRPF policemen by naxals. Very little media coverage, very little info. Nobody seems to realize that they died fighting on our behalf - they were recruited, trained and deployed to do our work. Their martyrdom requires as much attention and sympathy as that of any armed forces personnel who dies on duty. I feel ashamed that nobody in the country seems to care.

That said, how did this happen? Why are naxals able to ambush and kill so many CRPF personnel together? What is missining the CRPF? Is it firepower, or intelligence, or training? Are drones being used for surveillance now? If so, which drones, and operated by whom?

You should take a lesson from our dear neighbours, and see what success (or otherwise) such an approach has given them. Continous operation rah-e-somethings and zarb-e-something, and to what end?

OTOH, we have crushed some of the toughest insurgencies (Kashmir, Punjab, ULFA, Bodo...) using nothing but rifles and grenades. We cannot turn our territory into a warzone.

Is it a news?
Man our media sucks big time!

There is no respect and coverage for loss of lives and media is going gung ho to clothes.

Why not take a positive lesson from Sri Lanka rather than Pakistan?

Remember Naxalite movement isn't about freedom; it is also no longer about land allocation; it is lust for power.

Comparing Pakistan's situation to ours is simply foolish. The nature of trouble there funnels from something else while the Naxal problem has nothing to do with a problem of that nature.

It is no longer a force 'for the poor'.

It has morphed into a terrorist organization that kills not just troops but also civilians.

Things were much more worse in Kashmir few years back but we controlled them without tanks, gunships & fighter jets. It was joint success of army, CRPF, BSF & also J & K police.

Kashmir is still an unresolved conflict with limited freedom for any Indian to travel there.

What solved it there was AFSPA. Are you saying that we should implement AFSPA in Chhatisgarh? Then it has to be implemented in Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar together because these states together constitute a significant part of naxalite terror.

Keep this image of 'poor and oppressed' and we will continue to lose more young and precious men.

These filth deserve no mercy.

Why should we let these vermin live when our own families are dying daily in the form of troops? Remember those 16 soldiers took 16 families along with them. Who will answer them?

Who will educate, take care and feed their kids?

Weren't they also from villages of India?

Sorry dude, but SL and many other coutnries have faced and crushed communist terror that was created by 'its own people'.

We need to harden up or we will never move beyond this.

If Andhra had pussyfooted like how Chhatisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand are doing, then they would have never let Greyhounds brutally finish off Maoists in their state.
