Cherry blossoms expected to bloom in last week of March

I want to go and hug each of these trees and tell it is is beautiful... my childish side :P

God I so loved to bench press 120 kg !
m not meeting you now u can pick nearly 3 of me :o:
I am; the Doc told me that its because of my terrible diet and because I am overweight. I had thought that as long none of that weight was fat it'll be alright but the Doc thinks that despite me working out 6 days a week in the gym and sprinting 100 m x 5 around thrice a week.....weighing around 95kg at 5'8 is putting an unnecessary strain on my body and that coupled with the sheer amount of calories needed to sustain that much weight and the junk I obtain those calories from (Tikkas and what not) is whats causing the high BP.
Ok this part I do not understand I have stayed with proper weight lifters who are shorter then you and lift just as much and weigh more. What tests did you get? I doubt you have to give up weight lifting, just have to shift to isolates like Gold Standard Whey protein. I hate to differ with doctors but other then salt you can continue to eat and work out.. What other tests have you gotten and what have they showed. I think the best option would be to go see another doctor more experienced in the Cardiovascular system, ie a cardiologist and then follow that with a nutritionist. But you have a very healthy life style, MashaAllah, and the cause of your problem needs to be isolated. Search secondary hypertension and do an extensive reading and see how many of the problems did your doctor actually rule out. My prayers are with you and if you need recommendations feel free to ask or any question either....
Tafsir ibn Kathir was written centuries upon centuries ago.....we need a new exegesis for the modern times. Though some of the old stuff ain't that bad.....Fakhradan Razi's exegesis was pretty forward looking for someone writing in the 12th century. But thats probably got to do with the fact that he was a polymath instead of your average mullah who doesn't know a thing beyond the parroting that the mullah before him taught him.
well the closest to the time of the Prophet(peace be upon him) the better the work in my opinion and having gone through the ten books I am quite impressed by the detail and the simplicity at the same time. I have influences of Saudi and that is why i guess I am more traditional then most people in religion and like to read and form my own opinions rather then following what the local imams say every day something changes and that seems wrong to me.

Its alright; I don't hit women !

The Doc didn't say that I have to give up on weightlifting just that I need to loose some weight and have a BMI more appropriate to my height.

I too like to form my own opinions but I've never fancied either Saudi or Iranian influence in matters of faith being a positive; the results of their influence are for all to see throughout the muslim world.

lol I wonder which bearded women you have met :P I need to show you guys how I look one day :P my image mentally does not match the look of mine according to people :P never shaved beard type person

BMI is a very vague scale when you look at weight lifters most have an above normal BMI.. but do as you see fit but know there are things like Whey protien you can use instead of masala and salt filled desi foods which I guess are the reason for your problems

Lol what Saudi projects and how relaxed they are in real is something one has to see to believe. Also one picks the positives.. but like I say to each their own, just read and understand things carefully from authentic sources and the rest can your choosing

Beard ? :o:

You're not a Disco Molvi ?

Just go by logic; if doesn't conform to logic then it needs to be reinterpreted ! :agree:

Lol molvi is something one should aspire to. to understand the religion as well as one can.. But no im not a disco molvi just a chilled out person who believes that force solves nothing and violence is the root of most problems facing us today :P

Well logic depends on the mindset... some people make anything they wish halal just because they do not know enough to know otherwise... like I said first educate yourself then you can go by logic... One who is well read has better logic then one who just reads a post on facebook and thinks he knows everything :)
we need more logical people to study religion, the biggest problem in our society is a child who can do nothing is sent to learn Islam and at one time the brightest aspired to be scholars...

Deen-i-Mullah fisabillah-i-fasaad !

Of course knowledge is everything but this Taqleed - imitation - in matters of faith that has gripped our societies must stop. Rationalism is the way forward....we need the Mutazilla again.

lol if people like you became scholars they would never act like illogical scholars asking for blood based on sects... that is why we need scholars

:) that is why i promote reading... n reading more... and then reading more.. So many books to read.. for example I do not know of anyone who read the books on Hazrat Umar available at Darrusalam but they find time to read novels... Great was the legacy left to us in terms of governance and we squander it.... I hope you find time to read that book it has 2 parts and has no sectarianism just a biography in detail mainly dealing with time as Caliph.

A hedonist like myself a scholar ? :o:

I'd rather read something that was written by a bona fide historian; religious people have the tendency of excessively embellishing accounts of history.

Umar ibn Al-Khattaab (R) (2 Vol. Set) - Dar-us-Salam.com
Read about it and read the book. I never recommend books I have not read... :) I will refund you the money if you do not like it :P or take you to an all you can eat place (appeals to the Butt side in you :yahoo: )
A hedonist like myself a scholar ? :o:
lol yes I think you would make a really good scholar... You read and understand and rather then blindly follow you want to know the why also which means your concepts will be clear and you will not suddenly go radical

Nahhh I'm still not convinced; how do I know its proper history and not pseudo-history ? I've never heard of the author and his credentials don't look great either. :undecided:

My concepts are already clear ! :smokin:

Any chance you'll make it down to D.C. for their Cherry Blossom Festival?

Average Peak Bloom Date: April 4

Exactly when the buds will open is not easy to predict and it is extremely difficult to give an accurate forecast much more than 10 days before peak bloom. National Park Service horticulturists monitor five distinct stages of bud development and provide timely forecasts and updates

The Peak Bloom Date is defined as the day on which 70 percent of the blossoms of the Yoshino cherry trees that surround the Tidal Basin are open. This date varies from year to year, depending on weather conditions. The Blooming Period is defined as that period when 20 percent of the blossoms are open until the petals fall and leaves appear. The blooming period starts several days before the peak bloom date and can last as long as 14 days, however, frost or high temperatures combined with wind or rain can shorten this period.

Visit the National Park Service‘s website with links to the Blossom Cam, cherry blossom photos, and information on how to donate to the Cherry Tree Replacement Fund.

The following is a comparative record of past bud development. The date listed is when 70 percent of the buds have reached each stage:

  1. Green Color in Buds: Mid to late February – Early March
  2. Florets Visible: Early to Mid March, Av. 16-21 days to Peak Bloom
  3. Extension of Florets: Av. 12-17 days to Peak Bloom
  4. Peduncle Elongation: Av. 5-10 days to Peak Bloom (Frost Critical)
  5. Puffy White: Av. 4-6 days to Peak Bloom

I am not feeling any brotherly love here; you mentioned @Nihonjin1051 but you didn't mention me !

Are you realistically thinking about a trip to D.C. during April? Both @Nihonjin1051 and I live within several hours (I live with an hour) of D.C., and I know that he was coming south in April for a conference and was wondering if he would be near D.C. during the early part of April, perhaps driving to his conference - passing through D.C. on the way.

I'd have mentioned you too, but I didn't think you would realistically be in the area.
