Centre clears Rs 1,900 crore deal for Navy to acquire two deep-submergence rescue vessels

This says we are getting the British ones. I was under the impression we are getting Russian ones. Any clarity on this? The second Akula and 2 of these were under discussion.

Most probably DSRV from Russia did not work out .. So we have bought from UK

Interesting to see our military relations with India getting stronger with each passing year. India made a great Choice with basically all the defence equipments they have irchased/ordered from our defence companies, be it the M777 howitzers, BAE hawks, Jaguars fighters, Vishal aircraft carrier, sea harrier fighters, to these submarine rescue ships.
Our defence industry might not make every single weapon systems like say the U.S, but anything we do produce is WORLD CLASS and second to none.:enjoy:

Looking forward to seeing these beauties serving the Indian Navy. Afterall, the U.K is still at the forefront of marine research, rescue, sub-sea operations , Oceanic exploration etc.:)

Don't forget that this company who will be supplying these vessel to India once provided the Scorpio 45 submersible which saved the lives of seven Russian sailors in their AS-28 submarine in 2005.:agree: They also manage the submarine rescue systems of the Royal navy, and they also manage similar operations in several countries around the world from the U,S to Australia to Singapore to Sweden, to Italy to Malaysia etc.Plus this is just a private company, not even government related. :)

So India made a good choice. WIN-WIN relations:cheers:
