Good that BAF are doing overhauls on these older birds. C130's are all built like tanks. Airframe life is infinite if C and D checks are done on regular basis. By the way - Abbotsford is a city that is adjacent to Vancouver in British Columbia, a lovely part of Canada on the West Coast. It is up the coast from Seattle, Washington and has many aerospace companies, as befits Seattle itself. Both are lovely, clean cities with liberal and educated population.

More about D-checks here, which is heavy maintenance done every six or so years,

Yes. True.

Probably even more liberal than LA. On a same level as SF. When educated people inhabit a city, the quality of life for that city goes up.

Friends of mine have visited the Island of Victoria in BC. They tell me it is super nice. BTW - the Twin otter, another tough as nails utility aircraft is made in Victoria, BC by Viking Air. I believe private companies in Bangladesh did lease one for a while from them. The Twin Otter (on floats) is very appropriate for Bangladesh as an air ambulance or even for army liaison use. Any flooded stretch of water is a makeshift runway. :-)

Same as the Cessna Caravan except having the reliability of having two engines.
