Last thing you need is getting stopped at the Police / Ranger pickets with your vehicle laden with explosives, SO big no to the route that passes through clifton or Cantt :
According to my knowledge the episode of this TV series was shot some 10 months ago. So the car is parked at the park in some where September 2019. The time when the drama is shot is around 4 to 5 pm it looks so or the day is cloudy. So this means the attackers lived some where near. In some second floor or third floor flats and used the park's parking for parking their car even at nights.
Terrorist purchased that car from a Showroom in old Sabzi Mandi Area sometime before terrorist attack, Salman the new Owner and Terrorist of PSX attack himself visited the showroom to purchase that vehicle, agencies have retrieved CCTV footage and related documents of the purchase from the showroom; previous owner and Showroom owner appear innocent in this and seems to have no connection with Terrorist other then a normal business transaction.

Different distances because of different routes but in general none of the route is less than 10 KM or greater than 15 KM, but this not important as they came from Mai Kolachi Road which mean either they were in new Haji camp area or some other neighborhood near to this areas and these areas are near to PSX, additionally these areas were previously under influence of Lyari Gangs and Baloch separatist elements also have their presence there
and this is the point they were financed heavily by their handlers if I am not wrong they purchased car on Cash ....

just a correction in my ost first I mistakenly wrote Purana Haji Camp which is at some distance from PSX and busy approach from there to PSX, I have made the correction to my post ...
heard it on news channel myself .... beside this it could be the only logical choice as that road lead one directly to PSX bypassing all the traffic jam .... and secondly as you highlighted in one of your post that just 30 minutes before the incident they were relax which mean their approaching rout was shorter than 30 minutes so New Haji Camp area and localities adjacent to it become a logical choice as one can reach PSX within 10-15 minutes using Mai Kolachi Road ..... above all that section of Mai Kolachi which connect to Jinnah Bridge from that haji camp and surrounding areas does not have check posts so approach is easy in terms of logistic and law enforcement .... so I don't think there was any need to hire someone from Police department to assist.
just to bring it on record, we have picked up unusual amount of traffic on social media from sindhi separatists account, it seems that new social media team has been set up to push certain narrative....links back to North American country & a middle eastern country.....we are still probing the matter further....
