When Elvis Summers saw an elderly woman sleeping in the street, he was inspired to try to make a difference for Los Angeles’ homeless. He began building tiny, colorful houses to get the homeless off the street and into shelter. However, LA officials are cracking down on the charity houses and removing them without offering their residents an alternative. RT’s Bridiga Santos reports.

Well he had noble thoughts but a bad implementation. You just can't wheel some shack and park it on the street infront of somebody's house or business.

If he found some property that would be acceptable then that would be a little better. Of course water and sanitation is an issue.

Plus there are public free shelters for homeless people. The problem is many homeless are loners and don't want to be around other people so they choose to go it alone on the street. This just isn't acceptable and encouraging people to do this is counterproductive.

funny looking charity houses :undecided: they don't look safe. If something were to happen to a homeless in one of those who you think is going to get blamed for it??? the local government. a lawsuit from the homeless person family

I can already see a shanty town of these things like Calais,France :pop:

in Communist Russia they would just build you a commie block, but does that really fix the problem of the homeless :enjoy:

nice of him.

this is why i don't automatically hate usa as a whole but i hate just its government and its military and intelligence.

However, LA officials are cracking down on the charity houses and removing them without offering their residents an alternative. RT’s Bridiga Santos reports.

usa government spends massive resources on building weapons and goes about the world invading progressive countries where the socialist system ensures that all citizens have free houses yet in usa itself the usa government doesn't want to provide houses to its homeless citizens.

why doesn't usa government invade india where there are 70+ million homeless and bring democracy here ( because india is not a democratic place )??

The problem is many homeless are loners and don't want to be around other people so they choose to go it alone on the street.

if you read the book 'the world according to bob', written by a formerly homeless man in britain, you will see that the homeless become invisible to the others... the material deprivations and the society-enforced loneliness induces psychological troubles into many homeless people.

isn't such a understanding used by cia to torture people?? :)

no one should be homeless.

I guess, somehow the world should look up to how the Russian tackle the homeless problem.

By killing them one by one like this

Homeless men kill, dismember, eat victim in Russian Urals

According to the official site of the local Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor's office, three homeless men killed the victim out of "personal enmity."
...
All three of the perpetrators, who have previous criminal records, have been detained. If convicted, they face up to 15 years in prison.
the case is not much different from acts of criminals who have homes.

can @Desertfalcon please explain why he gave your post a positive rating??

@jamahir Looks like you've got another strong reason to promote socialism.

that is correct... there is no reason for any government to allow even one citizen to be homeless.

usa government spends such a huge money[1] every year on military spendings but cannot build high-quality free houses for every citizen :
In fiscal year 2015, military spending is projected to account for 54 percent of all federal discretionary spending, a total of $598.5 billion.
