Can Turkey become a regional power? Yes, and it already is to an extent.

Can Turkey become a great power? Possibly, but it will depend on a lot of favorable factors.

Can Turkey become a superpower? No chance. You might as well forget about that.

I don't think China has the strong will to be a super power, China lack of a key factor, language and culture. China has a unique language and culture which is a challengable barrier for other parts of the world, especially English already solid its position globally in science, technology, business etc. in modern world, it's nearly impossible to replace it with other languages. China can be a super power of economy, but world wide super power, NO.
Actually Japanese is a good example for culture influence through their manga, games etc.I don't see why we can not achieved the same thing.

.
i don't consider 'manga, games' are CULTURE, the more appropriate name is POP. Japan learn lots of FORMS of culture, but they never grasp the SPIRIT, CORE of China culture, same for Korean/Vietnam. Also, modern Chinese are NOT educated with CHINA CULTURE. It's off topic, i won't elaborate here. after all it's discussion about Turkey.

The majority of Turks doesn't want to join EU any longer. Polls reveal that around 68% doesn't want to join EU, 23% is in favor of joining EU and there are around 9% that are in doubt.

60% of the questionnaires think that the reason why EU has double standards towards Turkey is because Turks are Muslim.

My personal opinion is also No to EU. Turkey can accomplish more like it's doing now, leaning towards Asia and the growing countries of Asia, and by restoring peace and stability in Middle East.
The major reason why you can't join EU is that you are Muslim. Even a blind can see it.

NO! Why?

A super power is built on a couple
of intangibles and clear markers.
Turkey has the markers.

Let's use the UNSC permanent 5 as standard.
Superpowers always have the following
at their disposal :
a large landmass;
Russia, China, USA &
France and the UK were at the time in 1945 still empires,
the farthest reaching ones of all times. Turkey has that.

a large population;
Turkey's is smallish but today still fits between France and UK.

an agricultural base;
of sufficient magnitude to feed its own and export for cash;
Turkey is 24th on the export list, the UK for compaison is 14th
and the feeblest of the 5, Russia is ranked 23rd and could be overtaken by 2025.

and an industrial sector both massive and up-to-date.
Turkey is beginning to make weapons for export which proves the currentness,
it only needs to export more massively everyday products like cars and stuff.
Then, there are 3 intangibles. History, national
character / will / project and circumstances.

I think one word will set the historical value of
Turkey's legitimacy, empire ... as in Ottoman?

The nation has to have the necessary drive to
attain and maintain that superpower status.
America and China have it in spades, Russia is
not doing as well as the USSR did, UK as Brexit
shows is insular and isolationist by nature and
us French are so unique, we're a gang unto ourselves.

Circumstances can only be enticed, rarely created.
When an enlargement of the UNSC gets closer if
it happens, Turkey has to be ready.

The reasons why you'd think I don't respect or like
Türkyie lie in the last two and relate a lot to Erdogan.

Since he got into power, he disheveled the national
unity, plunged relations with the outside world in a
state of hesitation close to disarray and actually put
the country away from readiness to embrace "luck".

The LeftvsRight and ruralvsintellectual fights hurt too.

So answering the questions
pdf/threads/ Can Turkey become a superpower?
Does Turkey possess the potential of becoming a "Superpower"?

is straightforward enough : Yes.

That doesn't mean it will happen.

Great day to you, Tay.

Superpowering is a dirty job, hope we dont become one. Prefer to become Liechtensteining.

No.
It used to be what might be considered a super power.
But today, it is less “strong” and what is considered a superpower are giant very influent contries such as USA China and the soviet block that was twice as big as Russia.
UK was a superpower such as these 100 years ago even thought it is small.

Turkey isn’t anywhere close to becoming a superpower.

If you consider an average European country a superpower thought, then yes Turkey is a Superpower. But as far as I know that’s not how the term is viewed.

I'm 100 percent sure this question was asked by an akp erdogan kinda guy, the answer is no there is only one super power on the planet today and that's USA. No other country can come close. China might have a shot in the future maybe after 30 years or 40, what suprise me the most are some people consider russia a super power. Lol russia is no more a super power than spain is. Take away russia it's nukes or oil. and then you have a a larger Romania
