According to Wikipedia page regarding killing of Bin Ladin, US had supplied F-16s to Pakistan under a condition that they were kept at a Pakistani military base under 24-hour US surveillance.

Can this be really true ?

The U.S. had supplied F-16 Fighting Falcons to Pakistan on the condition they were kept at a Pakistani military base under 24-hour U.S. surveillance.[53] The U.S. would know immediately if the Pakistanis scrambled their jets.

If would be possible that they are GPS tracked because Pakistan has always avioded using F-16 in any major conflict where American involvement was to be kept in check for example Kargil!

.
It is true already. Pakistan had suggested to keep F-16s on a separate base were no unauthorized person will have access to any of these jets. F-16s are fitting with GPS tracking but its various parts are also sealed which aren't allowed to be opened by any body except US technical staff. Those sealed parts are also fitted with silent trackers that would let USA know if any of the sealed section was accessed. AND - US's own approved staff stays on the base all the time. How's that?

It can be possibe but I don't think anyone would be able to tie this together conclusively.

This is true with other strings attached too, for the Block 52+. However these are limited for a certain period of time, 2016 I believe.

Agar itni restrictions hain to yeh F-16s wapis kar dain... un k mun par wapis maar dain...
After all, Pakistan paid for them, they were not purchased for free..

Don't be surprised these restrictions upon itself were proposed by Pakistan itself. US Equipment always comes with conditions and they are subjected to inspections whenever they wish.

Their tech is the best in the world so it comes as no surprise that they want to safeguard it from Chinese reverse-engineering (as if they need it now). But the humiliation that comes with these inspections is Pakistan's to bear.

Better not to have the F-16s than face inspections from the gloating American-approved staff.

F-16s have proprietary source codes for the fighters’ weapons systems. Till today, only Turkey has been given US congressional approval to automatically modify the software source codes of the fighters’ weapons systems with national software source codes.

Turkey has become the first nation among 26 who have the F-16s in their inventories, to have the ability to receive information on the F-16 fighters’ software source codes thereby enabling it to replace them with their own software source codes whenever necessary.

In other words, any F-16s weapon systems can be rendered ineffective as and when the Americans like. That sucks, what? :fie:

US was not willing to sell Pakistan Block 52+ aircraft. Their main concern were the Chinese and India- which possessed great danger from the new F-16s. General Musharraf did, however, propose the restrictions and conditions himself. PAF desperately needed a gap-filler in the fleet, till the JF-17 and J-10B projects gets induced in numbers. PAF only had ageing Mirage, F-7 and old F-16s which were to get MLU. It just seemed right to go with new good fighter to keep the gap intact.

They are force-multiplier. They will not be the main aircraft in PAF fleet for long.

THERE IS A REASON WHY MOST PAKISTANIS INCLUDING THE USERS,THE PAF...NO MORE LIKE OR WANT AMERICAN DEFENCE HARDWARE...

TOO MANY STRINGS ATTACHED.
