Here in Bangladesh recently two big companies were given license to start DTH service. They will start operation within next few months. I heard DTH is only for High Defination TV. We have a 24" standard definition Sony TV. 15 years old TV. Still going great. Can I see extremely clear quality channels in SD (standard definition) TV.

Btw, there are some channels like 'Star Movies HD'. Will I have to buy a new TV for HD channels?

No, you can avail channel on normal TV but for HD make sure how much channel they give in HD pack.
Btw, in HD picture quality is awesome.

So what do I need for DTH HD? Only set top box?

There are two types of boxes, SD and HD. HD boxes are costlier but capable of showing the HD channels apart from the SD channels. But even if you buy a HD box, you will need a "HDTV" or a "HD ready TV" (preferably a LED backlit TV with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and minimum screen size of 32 inches or more) to feel the difference in picture quality.
