OBOR is just chinese infrastructure business coupled with finance business and chinese job creation being sold as a transit project at the cost of some foolish countries. Sea routes remain ten times cheaper for international trade.

IMO, OBOR is all about steel overcapacity in China. If my memory serves me right, I think Chinese steel capacity is about 800 million tonnes, and next best is either India or Japan, and they are close to 100 million tonnes.

China is ahead so they can gloat. It is natural. In most countries, I would expect a political upheaval and a clamor for more political and democratic rights after China has lifted millions out of poverty. If it is happening in China, it is very solidly clamped down or the people are just not interested. I don't know which one it is. In India, Some excellent things are taking place at grass root levels. MP just planted 60 million trees in one day. Gujarat has a target of planting 100 million trees in one year. Many Ayurveda and research centers are being opened. From Cataract surgery to open heart surgery is done totally free of cost. Many multi specialty hospitals are opened at just 20% cost of other hospitals. Excellent schools are opened in remote villages. Old traditional knowledge is being explored. Small entrepreneurs are coming with new ideas and concepts. Politics is changing. We now have the politicians who works 16 to 18 hours a day and live a life like sanyasi. Corrupt politicians are thrown away and side lined like never before. Water conservation is being focused upon so as cleanliness. Superstitions are thrown away and true religion and yoga is replacing it. I would like to say that a foundation of new India is being laid down which shall be much better, much fair , much prosperous and glorious and livable. hyper generous children new generation is being made in schools. Phenomenal number of schools are coming up with new themes and philosophies of child education and their overall development. A new pool of scientist, Technologist, Doctors , educationist and business leader is being made in numerous education institutes. Mind boggling philanthropic and charity work is being done. Many doctors are giving free services in remote areas. People are living wine and other bad habits such as Guthka and tobaccos.Every parents has a dream to make his or her child study in a good school or colleges. This reflects the ethos of an average Indian. A beautiful India is being created.
