Vice-president of Myanmar civilian government vows resistance to junta rule
By Reuters Staff
3 MIN READ

(Reuters) - The acting leader of Myanmar’s parallel civilian government, appointed by ousted lawmakers in the wake of a Feb. 1 military coup, addressed the public for the first time on Saturday from hiding and vowed to pursue a “revolution” to overturn the junta.

FILE PHOTO: Mahn Win Khaing Than new speaker of Upper House of Parliament leaves his room for the opening of the new upper house of parliament in Naypyitaw February 3, 2016. REUTERS/Soe Zeya Tun
Mahn Win Khaing Than, who is on the run along with most senior officials from the ruling National League for Democracy Party, addressed the public via Facebook, saying, “This is the darkest moment of the nation and the moment that the dawn is close”.
Witnesses and domestic media Myanmar Now and BBC Burmese said at least 12 protesters were killed on Saturday in one of the bloodiest days since the coup in which Myanmar’s army seized power and detained most of the civilian leadership including Aung San Suu Kyi.
In its evening news broadcast, junta-run media MRTV labelled the protesters as “criminals” but did not elaborate.
Mahn Win Khaing Than was appointed last week as acting vice-president by representatives of Myanmar’s ousted lawmakers, the Committee for Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), which is pushing for recognition as the rightful government.

It has announced its intention to create a federal democracy and leaders have been meeting representatives of Myanmar’s largest ethnic armed organizations, which already control vast swathes of territory across the country. Some have pledged their support.
“In order to form a federal democracy, which all ethnic brothers, who have been suffering various kinds of oppressions from the dictatorship for decades, really desired, this revolution is the chance for us to put our efforts together,” Mahn Win Khaing Than said.
His address was greeted with thousands of approving comments from many who followed it on Facebook. “Keep it up Mr President! You are our hope. We are all with you,” wrote one user, Ko Shan.
The junta, which could not be reached for comment on Saturday, has declared CRPH illegal and said anyone involved with it could be charged with treason, which carries the death penalty.

The CRPH has declared the junta a “terrorist organisation”.
Mahn Win Khaing Than said the CRPH would “attempt to legislate the required laws so that the people have the right to defend themselves” and that public administration would be handled by an “interim people’s administration team”.
A civil disobedience movement that started with government employees such as doctors and teachers has expanded into a general strike that has paralysed many sectors of the economy and taken a large portion of the workings of government out of the military’s hands.

About time the NLD came out and thrown in with ethnic armies. Majority of the ethnic armies are loyal to China. A federal democracy basically means China will control the northern 3 states of Myanmar or a third of the country. Question now which side will Beijing take.

The few minority arm group who hate China is the Rohingya and a few more others. Rohingya love USA and west spreading out their legs welcoming them.

China has been bribing Myanmese insurgencies asking them to work with Tatmadaw.

Barmese should send a thank you note to China for supporting these arm groups.

How do you know this?

I infer, but I admit I have no monopoly on what is really happening.

China is not going to shout out loud on the deals with Wa, Shan, Karen, Kachin. When these groups start to be friendly with China, suddenly everyone are in peace with Tatmadaw.

yet they don't mention that Russia, Vietnam, and India was also against taking action against Myanmar's military at the U.N. What a bunch of retards angering the only country with enough leverage in Myanmar to actually do something.
Do you think they even cared to begin with?

I belie US don't have a horse in this race. Otherwise, they would've already been all over the place.

While Burma would've been a good place for them to poke China, they have no interest spending resources just poking.

See, they even withdrawing from the Middle East, and decided against direct counter in Pacific. They are seriously resource constrained.

Earlier Kachin aligned with USA. Seems to me that nowadays, Kachin and USA is no longer close. Kachin and China seems closer today. Kachin and Myanmar has some sort of very low intensity conflict, but generally quite peaceful most of the time. Situation of warlords in Myanmar is volatile.

I can only guess.

But very sure the group align with USA most is Rohingya. They are the worse terror at the moment.

As correctly predicted previously on 12 March 2021, the U.S. QUAD is escalating the crisis in order to justify an intervention and take military control of Myanmar as a springboard for seizing its Rare Earth Mineral reserves!

China urges Myanmar to stop violence, punish perpetrators after plants smashed

Updated 23:04, 14-Mar-2021

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar on Sunday urged Myanmar to take effective measures to stop violence and punish perpetrators after several Chinese-funded factories were smashed and burned by lawbreakers on Sunday, which led to several Chinese being injured.

"China urges Myanmar to take further effective measures to stop all acts of violence, punish the perpetrators in accordance with the law and ensure the safety of life and property of Chinese companies and personnel in Myanmar," read the statement.

China also called on the people of Myanmar to express their demands in a lawful manner and not to be incited or used in a way that undermines Sino-Myanmar ties, according to the statement.

The statement came after over 10 factories, including some Chinese-funded enterprises, were vandalized and set on fire at an industrial zone in Myanmar's Yangon city on Sunday.

Carrying iron rods, axes and gasoline, the arsonists smashed the security personnel and set fires at the factories' entrances and in warehouses.

Vehicles and nearby shops were also vandalized.

Per reports, several people were injured but identities of arsonists have not been ascertained yet.

As a consequence, Myanmar military imposed martial law on Hlaing Thar Yar and Shwe Pyi Thar townships in Yangon Sunday night, following the crackdown & fires at 10 Chinese factories in the afternoon. Both townships are the first in the country to be placed under martial law since Feb. 1 coup.

Good, China has now the green light from the Tatmadaw to intervene!

First with its orbital fleet of ELINT Yaogan triplet satellites, the collection of all Burmese cellphone communications will be done, then BIG DATA A.I. backed by Exascale supercomputers will give the PLA a clear picture of all the terrorists, with identity, geolocations, text, video and voice records, including their future plans.

The final move will be to send PLA special forces (Wolf Warriors) to take them down, one by one, without the terrorists ever being aware of who they are dealing with!

Nice try QUAD, with this latest fatal self-defeating move, that left the Tatmadaw more weakened than ever, they just handed Myanmar to China on a plate!

Myanmar Protesters Say an Attack on China’s Pipelines Would Be ‘Internal Affair’

By The Irrawaddy 8 March 2021

YANGON—Myanmar people have issued a sharp response on social media after Beijing voiced serious concern over the security of its ambitious twin pipelines project in the country, saying whether or not the pipelines are blown up is an “internal affair”.

As the military regime’s security forces intensified their deadly crackdown on anti-coup protesters in Myanmar in late February, Beijing held an emergency meeting with Myanmar officials from the Home Affairs and Foreign ministries, according to the leaked document.

The document revealed that Bai Tian, the director-general of the department of external security affairs under the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, asked the military regime to assure the security of the oil and natural gas pipelines, following the emergence of anti-Chinese sentiment across the country due to its stand on the coup.

1. Milk Tea Alliance's 3 days ultimatum sent to China.

The project spans nearly 800 kilometers, comprising twin pipelines running in parallel from the port of Kyaukphyu in Rakhine State on the Bay of Bengal through Magwe and Mandalay regions and northern Shan State before entering China.

Beijing is expecting Myanmar to impose better security measures for the pipelines project, saying it is a crucial part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Myanmar, according to the leaked document.

Any damage to the oil and gas pipeline would cause huge losses for both countries and also undermine confidence in foreign investment, Bai warned.

2. Milk Tea Alliance saying whether or not the pipelines are blown up is an “internal affair”.

Developed by he state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) – which is the main shareholder in the pipelines project – the project has been controversial since 2013, provoking opposition among communities and environmental organizations. The agreement for the project was signed under the military regime in 2008. The company said the crude oil pipeline is designed to transport 22 million tons annually, while the natural gas pipeline is designed to carry 12 billion cubic meters of gas.

The document revealed that the permanent secretary of Myanmar’s Foreign Ministry was not able to attend the meeting, as it received a notification just four hours ahead of time. It showed how China is desperately concerned about its project security.

3. Milk Tea Alliance told China, “If you are still concerned that what’s currently happening in Myanmar is an internal affair, to blow up the natural gas pipeline that passes through Myanmar is also an internal affair.

The document also revealed that China hopes that the military regime will put pressure on the Myanmar media, to reduce its skepticism of China. Bai said the regime should rein in the media to only write about China in a positive way.

Additionally, the director-general said, “Criticism about the gas pipeline should not be allowed, as it is important for the socio-economic development of Myanmar. Relevant organizations should control fake news relating to project.”

China’s apparent pursuit of its own interests has strengthened Myanmar people’s opposition to Beijing’s interests in the country. In response to China’s failure to condemn the coup, more than 50,000 people on social media shared a status notice encouraging movements to boycott Chinese products in the country.

Moreover, nearly 1 million people shared on Facebook and Twitter in Burmese, Chinese and English a message saying that Beijing’s pursuit of its own interest showed that China officially consider the deaths and injuries of Myanmar people are a domestic matter, and that its own interests are paramount.

4. Chinese businesses to be destroyed by Milk Tea Alliance.

Social media users told China, “If you are still concerned that what’s currently happening in Myanmar is an internal affair, to blow up the natural gas pipeline that passes through Myanmar is also an internal affair. Let’s see what you say.”

They added, “We, the Myanmar people, have nothing more to lose. If a veto is used again at the UN meeting, the people of Myanmar will do the same to CHINA!” they said.

Moreover, thousands of Twitter users also warned Beijing, mentioning @MFA_China that “if you care about the safety of your gas pipeline, don’t cover the Myanmar junta with a veto. We Myanmar people are very united.”

5. Milk Tea Alliance has nothing to lose.

Many Twitter users also wrote that if China continues to support the unofficial illegitimate junta, Myanmar-based Chinese businesses must be brought down soon, including the pipelines project. They said they would target mining projects and every business across the country for destruction.

Social media users said that if China continues to block strong UNSC action, there will be more and more anti-China activities in Myanmar, which will have serious consequences for the gas pipeline, the BRI and other Chinese projects in Myanmar.

Since the military takeover, China has repeatedly insisted that the armed forces’ seizure of power from the democratically-elected government is Myanmar’s internal affair, including at UNSC and Human Rights Council meetings. The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has faced daily protests, demanding Beijing stop its support for the Myanmar military. Moreover, anti-Chinese sentiment has emerged among the people of Myanmar in the form of boycotts of Chinese products.

Myanmar coup gives Chinese rare earth stocks an uneasy bounce as state of emergency raises supply squeeze concerns

• Stocks in the rare earth industry get an unexpected boost as Myanmar coup creates supply risks in world’s third-biggest producer

• China Rare Earth Holdings, MMG soar in Hong Kong even as analysts questioning the strength of price rally

Published: 1:37pm, 3 Feb, 2021

Rare earth related stocks in Hong Kong and mainland China are enjoying a mini rally after a military coup in Myanmar this week stoked concerns about a supply squeeze. The bounce may be fleeting, according to Guosen Securities.

The military seized power in the Southeast Asian nation on February 1 and immediately imposed a state of emergency for one year, citing fraud in last year’s elections.

Myanmar mined 30,000 metric tons of rare earth oxides equivalent, or 12.5 per cent of global production in 2020, according to estimates compiled by the US Geological Survey, up from 10.5 per cent in 2019. China produced the most at 140,000 tons, or a 66.7 per cent share, while the US accounted for 38,000 tons or 15.8 per cent.

Make no mistake, this is a war. If one doesn't react swiftly, and extinguish the embers within days, Myanmar could end-up devastated by a fire-hurricane, like Syria after a decade, with millions of casualties and a lost generation!

These are not amateurs, in today's connected world, social media are directly forwarding the C.I.A.'s orders to the frontliners in real-time!

Semi-professional workshops are churning gears for the rioters 24/7:

Well, it is not called Milk Tea Alliance (MTA) for no reason!

Notice all protestors in Myanmar are not necessarily affiliated to the Milk Tea Alliance, only a minority of them.

In short, in their own word, the Myanmar protest can not succeed without military action from the UN, US & international community.

Therefore the Milk Tea Alliance's strategy is to please the foreigners, mostly the western opinion, and also the regional satellites such as QUAD (Japan, South Korea), and even as far as some US-aligned Muslim nations or even Mongolia.

Any escalation is to achieve this goal. For the Milk Tea Alliance, managing the protest is just like managing a TV reality show, and especially a Hunger Games as most tributes (frontliners) are not even expected to survive! Thus the continuous three-fingered salute of these modern time gladiators.

They think that mediatically what weights the more is images of violence, especially those of gore with casualties, therefore the higher the willingness for martyrdom that would in their minds ensure a higher likelihood of foreign interference!

Proof, the Milk Tea Alliance will write all its texts in English rather than in Burmese!

The main objective at the core of the Milk Tea Alliance, repeated again and again like a mantra: How many dead bodies needed to take military action?

For recruiting frontliner cannon fodders (called tributes), that would certainly end-up as martyrs, the Milk Tea Alliance never short of clumsy tricks, is now recruiting hobos according to the old C.I.A. playbook, by offering free shoes, free socks, clean pants, new hoodie, gloves, mask, helmet and googles!

Hobo recruited as frontliners, after the refitting, and ready to be martyred for the Hunger Game:

The display of ingenuity, kindness or helplessness is calculated to gain the westerners sympathy.

Small kitten in a protester's helmet with tear gas' smoke background, sharing one's lunchbox with small street doggies are all inspired from the C.I.A. playbook.

The Milk Tea Alliance narrative is specially fine-tuned to catch the attention of the U.S.-E.U public, and not afraid of ridicule:

6. Typical Milk Tea Alliance verbiage: Islamic State is 'better' than Tatmadaw or military in Myanmar.

And of course sycophancy that will know no shame, such as U.S. and U.K. flags waving, U.S. anthem, and display of shared cherished common value:

Reminds one of some déjà vu but what?

Ethnic persecutions especially sinophobia (though officially anti-CCP only) that is at the core of the Milk Tea Alliance, contribute to escalate and increase the likelihood of foreign intervention.

Kristallnacht is an old C.I.A. trick from the playbook.

And the countermeasure is to not allow the Milk Tea Alliance's narrative to be spread uncontrolled as a COVID variant pandemic!

Martial Law is contributing to the de-escalation, as is the reduction of mediatic coverage.

Thus, as complement to the 30th night of internet shutdown, a new tactic of mobile internet connection (WIFI) disruption, for the second day.
