BSF has particularly targeted farms and residences of retired Pakistan army, ISI and Pakistan Rangers offic... Border Security Force's use of targeted firepower on farms and residences of Pakistan's serving and former army officers near the border resulted in Pakistan suing for peace.

Codenamed 'Operation Arjun', the measure has seen BSF framing a robust response to Pakistan's use of snipers to kill jawans, besides firing on civilians and shelling villages along the border over the last month.

The border force's counter-offensive on Pakistan's pain points saw the latter seek a ceasefire three days ago.

BSF has particularly targeted farms and residences of retired Pakistan army, ISI and Pakistan Rangers officers who have been given land near the Indian border to facilitate their task of guiding infiltration and providing logistical help in anti-operations India, top sources said.

Following the BSF action, Pakistan Rangers' Punjab DG Maj Gen Azgar Naveed Hayat Khan called BSF director K K Sharma twice last week requesting a stop to the firing. Sharma lodged a strong protest on Pakistan's unprovoked firing causing loss of life and property of civilians. The first call to Sharma was made on September 22, while the two DGs spoke again on Monday.

Sharma told Khan that his junior, Lt Col Irfan, commanding officer of 12 Chenab Rangers, had the tendency of acting in a provocative manner, raising the risk of retaliation. As part of 'Operation Arjun', the BSF used small, medium and area weapons, causing heavy damage on the Pakistani side and the death of seven Pakistan Rangers personnel and 11 civilians. Several border outposts and structures of Pakistan army and Rangers were destroyed using long-range 81 mm weapons. Officials said following Pakistan's repeated firing on villages and its posts, the BSF restructured its operations along the western border and decided to hit the adversary where it hurt.

Sources said the tactic was on the lines of the three-month 'Operation Rustam' carried out last year after Pakistan fired intermittently following the September 19 surgical strikes by the Indian Army. At that time too, BSF's retaliation forced Pakistan Rangers to wave the white flag.

Indians and their endlessly creative media hype friendly (and gullible bhakt fool friendly) names.
So essentially by making claims of attacking these plots(god knows what spurious claims they make of contacts and infiltrators), the BSF is trying to justify its killing of civilians.
Essentially admitting they are barbaric human rights violators out to harm innocents, but we already knew that.

For me the most funny part is they actually think our officers live just 1 meter from Indian border you jump to our side and after one meter officer home starts

They have spy satellites and friends like Israel and US to guide and arm them with proper weapons,
We should also use satellite images to point out targets and long range guided weapons to destroy there soft parts.

This is bloody sad, no matter who does it. Civilians on either side should be off limits.

True, after retirement they all live in huts right on the border. You can easily identify them ISI officers in huts with Red roofs, Army officers with huts in green roofs, Rangers in huts with blue roofs, so on and so forth.

Garbage reporting by toilet media..targeting civilians can land Indian in war crimes trial by Pakistan.

How would they know that this is the home or farm of a retired military officer? Sounds like a cover up for targeting civilians.

Here its goes India declared that they are deliberately targeting civilian. now what our mighty army do with it?
PA/ISI should focus playing power games in Islamabad and give indian bastards a free hand on LOC.

haahaha their bollywood heroics ... Betay BSF waloon ki achar ki phari kai saath tail tu daitay nai hoo... golay kahan sai do gai...

when my cousin was posted in kashmir over 10 years ago he told me that special forces from both sides sneaks in at night and chops off heads. Some stuff are not even reported in media.
