The Border Security Force on Thursday detected a tunnel from Pakistan to India in RS Pura sector of Jammu district, a senior official said.
“BSF personnel have discovered an underground tunnel at Allah Maie Kothay area in RS Pura sector of the International Border in Jammu district,” another official told IANS.
The BSF was conducting an investigation earlier in the day after it found a portion of land had caved in near the international border.
Initial inspection revealed that the tunnel was over 50 feet in length.
Senior BSF officers have reached the spot to ascertain whether the tunnel could have been dug to facilitate infiltration from across the border.
