supported the Israeli campaign even after it became clear of the large number of civilian deaths in Gaza and expressed it mostly with anti-muslim profanities
Crude generalization. Many Indians even on this forum were uneasy about the civilian casualties, and believed Israel was wrong to continue the aerial assualt on Gaza. Contrary to what you may think, we have no hatred towards Palestinians. In fact if you visit India, you can see plenty of banners expressing solidarity with Palestine.

I myself made it clear on one thread that although I supported Israel initially during the recent conflict, I had to change my mind after the continous bombardment. I then argued with some of the Israelis about that.

Our suport or opposition has nothing to do with religious beliefs. Muslim or Jewish or hindu is irrelevant, it is about human beings. Our support for Israel is not unqualified - we do condemn the unnecessary civilian deaths when it happens. It is you who fail to realize that Israel's neighbours are a savage lot. (I don't mean innocent Palestinians.)

Here is my post when that conflict was going on:

So by your logic India is only for Hindus....and forgive my history some place where buddism started is only for buddists....lets not go into the legalities of creation of the Israeli state this is not a thread for that

In very ver few places of the world that are the true well-springs of great civilizations the worldly laws do not count. Mecca/ Medina for muslims, Varanasi for Hindus, Jerusalem for the jews. In these places you can't say 'we lived here for 200 years so we have rights' does not exist. If hindus occupied medina for 200 years, will you accommodate us? Zionism's flaw was that it did not allow for such a claim till now. Now they have decided to make the claim. That's it, PERIOD. It's theirs now. And you are NOBODY to question 'legality' of creation and such. They've decided to have a state and they will therefore have it.

Some Indians support Israel for genuine reasons, as in it gives India advanced tech, but others support it due to hatred of Muslims.

Hard to know what percent represents each reason, since few people will give their true reasons.

We are not islamphobe nations like in west, we too have around 15% of Muslim population. Many Industries Indian Muslims prefer India's interest first than falling for UMMAH concept...... For me ummah is close loop concept just for Muslims why not include every human being for true brotherhood in 21st century, it is biased against universal concept of humanity n brotherhood....

"Indians who i encountered on the social media" you missed the start of the line when quoting me....
now that support did not necessarily have anything to do with them being Jews but it had a lot to do with the Israeli military targeting a Muslim population....
calling Israel's neighbours a savage lot now that is a crude generalization

As ancient hindu scriptures say, "Lokaah samastaa sukhino bhavantu." - may the whole world live in harmony.

Not just "my community is a brotherhood against everybody else."

Stupid statement. In my experience Indians generally support Israel for being great examples of courage and self sacrifice and sense of community. You wanna wallow in self- pity and blame it on anti-islam sentiment (as you guys always do), you are free to do that. Unlike the jews you are not known for any of these things. When Assad killed 1000s of his own people, what did you ever do to stop him? You think a jew can do this to another jew and get away with it?

Thats Exactly I wanted to state.
Well Said.

1) "Indians who i encountered on the social media" you missed the start of the line when quoting me....
2) now that support did not necessarily have anything to do with them being Jews but it had a lot to do with the Israeli military targeting a Muslim population....
3) calling Israel's neighbours a savage lot now that is a crude generalization

1) The first line is still a generalization - PDF is also social media, and you can find many Indians who do not support unnecessary deaths.
2) No, it doesn't, as I said. By that logic, we should love ISIS for killing and terrorizing muslims. I already explained why we admire Israel, and muslim deaths have nothing to do with it. You may either believe us when we say that, or allege that we are simply lying. However, here we really have no reason to lie to you - if we like Israel for killing muslims, we might just as well say so.
3) Yes you are right, I should have phrased it better. I thought the last line in parantheses would make it clear, but I'll clarify - I meant that that region is filled with religious hatred, and especially hatred for jews and Israel, and there are many powerful factions (countries or groups) that explicitly make it clear they want to see Israel destroyed. Those were the people I was referring to.

you are so wrong on this on many counts first it has been 1400 years not 200....secondly Jerusalem is also the birth place of Christianity....i just don't know how to answer the rest of your post lets just agree on ''Might is Right"

Well, Firstly Thank You for your Polite and Sensible Replies.
Its so nice to see healthy and logical exchange of ideas.

History aside, Indians love Israel for their courage and bravery and their innovative approaches.

Lets not talk of Gaza...I cant see a single country on the face of the earth, NOT having blood on their hands just like almost all of them had their worst at some point in history !

1400 years 'as guests'. When it comes to civilizations 1400 years is nothing. As per Christians everywhere in the world Rome is the centre of their religion now so that logic does not count. In any case neither have the Jews denied Christians their claims nor Christians have said that jews have kept them out. But Jews is the fist claim since theirs is a more ancient claim. The Christians accept it as such too. (Jesus himself was a Jew)

And even now, the same people who were so heart-broken when Israel had launched its campaign, haven't criticized ISIL for the numerous deaths its actions are causing. Hell, even in Pakistan itself the number of deaths and the number of refugees being created would be near or rather more than what Israel's action created. But, no one raises voice against that because its within the people of same religion. People should stop giving religious color to happenings around the world just because it supports their sorry narratives.

About the social media there are a lot more Indians on twitter than on PDF....
Ok maybe your support for Israel doesnot have anything to do with its enemies being Muslim countries but i stand by my views on what i observed...
anti-semtiism in the arab world is due to the conditions related to the creation of the Israeli state
