British praising the physical qualities of Bihari Bhumihars and Rajputs

There is confusion in name. Karral of Hazara/hindko are not same as kharals of ravi. Because I remember similar tribe name in Hazara gazetter.

Karlal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

while kharals are from southern part of central punjab.

"In 1768, Nar Singh was killed in a battle against the Kharals at Kot Kumaliah and was succeeded by his brother, Ran Singh"

Nakai Misl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kharal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Both are different, karral/karlal are different tribe of hazara. There is no tribe of common jatt decent in hazara region.
Thanks for clearing the confusion

I don't think so.

Lets have an arm-wrestling match between a Punjabi - moi - and a Bengali - you - and let that be the end of the age old question : Could a Punjabi kick a Bengali's butt or would vice versa be more apt ? :azn:

And no 1857 and '71 doesn't count; the British and the Indians gave the other side an unfair advantage !

OK.

We just had the match and I won. I say so, so that's good enough. :azn:

Hi buddy,

This is the first time i ever heard of Emperor Harsha, what an impressive life story , and his role in expanding not only religion (buddhism) but also literature ! Impressive. You know, for me, what makes a great leader is not just the military campaigns he or she may lead or promulgate, but the manner in how he or she rules the people. The promotion and cultivation of civilization and culture, all of which are intangible aspects of a nation that will live on after said ruler.

Its just so amazing to read about the different types of dynasties in the Subcontinent , from those in the South, the East, the West. The warfare between the princely states is very smilar to Japan's own Sengoku Jidai, even China's own Warring States Period.

See, when we study history, we tend to realize how very similar we are to each other. :)

I am fascinated with many things about India and the whole of South Asia. Culture, language, history, people. Just an amazing place ! :)
Honestly I have more respect for scholars and saints than for Kings. I consider Basava the greatest personality of medieval South Asia. He was a philosopher, statesman and social reformer who fought for the equality of all human beings and for the poor.

Very nice history, Bhumihars are indeed a rough and tough race. We have rebelled against the Mughals, Nawab of Oudh, Nawab of Bengal and the British. We are the personification of lions.

I don't think so.
Yes it does, you must be a butthurt Bengali who is jealous that the British didn't recruit you but recruited Biharis and UP wallas instead,
