The Indian finance ministry has approved a proposal to establish a mountain strike corps along the China-India border, the Indian Express reported.
The new corps will include about 89,000 soldiers and 400 officers, the report said on Sunday. The proposal gained momentum because of the latest standoff between Chinese and Indian troops at Tiannan River Valley and was being urgently discussed even when India was preparing for Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's visit, the report said.
