The interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, confirmed the arrest by security forces on thursday night in Boussy-Saint-Antoine, in Essonne, of three radicalized and fanatical women aged 19,23 and 39.
These women were planning imminent and violent actions.
The Minister also confirmed that the arrests were linked to the terrorism investigations concerning gas canisters found in an abandoned car near Notre-Dame-de-Paris.
During the arrest, one of the women pulled out a knife and wounded a police officer on the shoulder, who used his firearm and injured her.
The police officer wounded during the arrests was hospitalized and his life not in danger, said Bernard Cazeneuve.
"One of the three suspects was also wounded," he said, without confirming if she was the daughter of the owner of the abandoned car.
Finally, the Minister was keen to "salute the performance of investigation services in what he called a race against time."
