Breaking news ISIS kidnap 46 Indian nurses

He's a clown AND a scholar. For reasons best known to him, he comes up with tomfoolery every now and then. Possibly some undiagnosed mental condition.

By the way there was also a parody account of this guy run by some Indian. There were some really funny tweets on that account.

pardon my ignorance, weren't they already held in captive way before ?

i don't think India would act in heist. For the security of these 46 we wouldn't strike, but if harmed i think the perception of India getting involved is much higher than the UPA led govt, just my take

It was just a sincere mistake, lets not take it overboard. He meant west Asia.
He meant south Asia. He said it was not a mistake but he did it to include china. with south Asia. Read his post again.

Reportedly they were asked by the government to return and that they denied to get the salaries and we also know that that government offered Indians without documents assistance to return too. So I would say, at least it would had been possible to move out of the hot zones in the north, but that of course doesn't solve the problem with their salary .
Nurses jobs outside of India are far more lucrative than in India, that's why so many nurses move outside, even by taking high loans in the first place. So it's not to risk their life because of the lucrative job alone, but to payback the loans they have taken to get the job.
I also saw news, where even after ISIS attack people who were in India was refusing to follow government directive on not going to Iraq. They talked live.

I think India will work through diplomatic channels and get them back, as far as ISIS is concerned, my gut feeling is they will not harm them.

WHy would it be nightmare for china ? if iraq breaks . Iraq was under uncle sam. what difference it made on chinese ?
I guess you don't know the links between East Turkistan Movement with Uzbiks, Al-Qaida and Taliban. ISIS would turn out to be a natural partner of Taliban (given there are no disputes over their so called caliphate where Talibans consider Mullah Umar to be their caliph) because
1- They share similar beliefs
2- They share similar enemies (Iran,US,etc)
Given Afghan forces are not on their feet quickly, an ISIS style war may also start in Afghanistan.A combo of these two menaces would mean destablization of the whole region since a merger would put all the sunni militant groups are under the combined umbrella of ISIS and Taliban. This also means Uzbiks, Tajiks, Chechans, Urighurs, Arabs etc would all have a safe heaven to breed and realize their objectives.

And the threat of contagion has already been recognized
Saudi Arabia deployed 30,000 soldiers to its border with Iraq after Iraqi soldiers abandoned the area, Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television said on Thursday, but Baghdad denied this and said the frontier remained under its full control.

The world’s top oil exporter, Saudi Arabia shares an 800-kilometre border with Iraq, where Islamic State insurgents and other Sunni Muslim militant groups seized towns and cities in a lightning advance last month.

Only applies to country, that starts with... ;)

Congrats India, a hindu nation was able to free its citizens from isis.
Which country are you talking about in the first sentence? As far as I know, other than Iraq or USA, no country has the intelligence network or logistics support to mount a rescue operation in Mosul.

But many have diplomatic/negotiation power...

I can't disclose the name. Read my signature for clue.

Wasn't Modi sending Special Forces to rescue the kidnapped Indians?
Such action involving Indian troops would always be the measure of last resort. Here india's diplomatic prowess has triumphed without a single bullet being fired.

Believe me they would have been released even if they were ethiopian nurses....
They have also released 32 turkish truck drivers.....
ISIS dont see them as enemies..or assets....

Worst thing any one could have done is to threaten ISIS with indias supeeeeeer military might.....
Thanks GOD no one in ISIS reads this forum

I dont think ISIS ever threatened the nurses... there was this issue of actually getting them out by somebody who can liaise with ISIS, and obviously that took some time.
