New Delhi: All the Indian nurses have been moved by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants from Tikrit to Mosul in Iraq as the second city is completely under rebels' control. All the 46 nurses who have been moved are from Kerala.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy confirmed that there had been a blast outside the bus which was taking them although there are no reports of any casualties. MEA sources told CNN-IBN that 46 Indian nurses have been moved to a different location by ISIS.

Some of these male nurses contacted their family members in Kerala and informed them that they were being moved along with five Bangladeshi nurses. They said they were asked by ISIS militants to board a bus and then driven away.

India should do something

There is nothing we can do. Nothing whatsoever.

Actually if something happens, it's partially even their own fault, since they remained there on their own will and against the suggestions of the GoI. I can understand the problem about the not paid salary, but one have to decide what's more important here, the money or your life.

It's too early to make such a statement and blame them, without knowing heir circumstances. Many workers in the middle east have their passports and travel documents impounded by their employers to prevent them from going away without permission, or going for a more lucrative job. There are many other reasons too, as to why they may not have returned in time. After all, a nurse's job is not so lucrative that they would risk their lives in a warzone for that.

India should do something

Noothing we can do.
According to the latest news they are in enroute to Mosul.
A military operation is impossible.Lakhs of Indians still working in middle east.If we interfere militarily it will be a
disaster for them.
5 Bangladeshis andChinese is also moved from there.
It is a warfield amilitary operation will only cause bogged down.Even if there is no casualities 4 nurses head are injured
But for last few days .ISIS treat them nicely .
They dont hurt them. They probably seeking to use them to treat their own wounded fighters.
But the news are coming that our MEA already has some blueprint for evacuation.
Will announce it later.
Our CM and other ministers also know that.

Paying ransom or diplomacy is the only way to get these guys out safe. No other option is possible.

Reportedly they were asked by the government to return and that they denied to get the salaries and we also know that that government offered Indians without documents assistance to return too. So I would say, at least it would had been possible to move out of the hot zones in the north, but that of course doesn't solve the problem with their salary .
Nurses jobs outside of India are far more lucrative than in India, that's why so many nurses move outside, even by taking high loans in the first place. So it's not to risk their life because of the lucrative job alone, but to payback the loans they have taken to get the job.

These people are innocent bro. They were not getting their livelihood here which is why they went there. When your stomach demands food and your family duties increase, making tough choices is the only choice. May the Elders never give you such a hard choice to make.

Please understand that traveling or 'staying there by will' especially in middle east is not like living in Kochi or Mumbai or Delhi or other cities here.

For example, you are working in Iraq after all the war there is peace. But you work at a lower middle level, and your passport is taken by your employer to work there. You have to seek permission from them but they beat you up, don't give you salaries and harrass you.

Suddenly one fine day as if this was not enough trouble already, ISIS comes knocking, guns your boss, beats you up and destroys your passport.

What can you do? Can you shoot your way out of ISIS base?

Even if you manage to reach an Indian consulate. Without a passport, can you convince the Consul office that you are an Indian and not a Pakistani or Bangladeshi or Sri Lankan? Most of you guys from the plains and coastal areas look alike except skin colours which varies all over the region.

Remember, you are not a super qualified professional working in an MNC consulting firm who uses cloud to store information about passport or remembers his passport ID.

Just a domestic help, nurse, an assistant in a grocery store or a cook.

Now think what you just said.

GOI can ask Saddam loyalist & sunni tribal militia for help ,we use to have good relation with saddam regime :undecided:

Diplomacy with whom? ISIS is not a recognized state. Ransom seems to be the only way.

They are terrorists, not pirates. I don't think they are interested in ransom.

Some of those Saddam loyalists are now part of ISIS.

Many terrorist groups finance themselves by kidnappings and ransom. ULFA was one example. That said, ISIS is not lacking money right now, since they are sitting on $450 million of cash reserves.
