The Russian industrial war machine as you put it has failed to do anything. This is why they're started to use tanks from ww2 and early cold war. It's also why they have had to buy weapons from foreign sources.

NATO and the US aren't fighting Russia, they're helping Ukraine fight off Russia.

If NATO got directly involved, Russia would have seen a total collapse of its military by now.

The Russians took a single unimportant city, losing 50k to 70K soldiers. They didn't win anything, they've now screwed themselves, because the Ukrainians are out flanking them. The Russians are gonna lose Bakhmut soon enough.
