High-level Afghan delegation arrives in Islamabad

Also, a high-level Afghan political delegation headed by speaker of the Ulusi Jirga (National Assembly) Mir Rehman Rehmani has arrived in Islamabad for consultations with Pakistani leadership over the evolving situation in Afghanistan in the wake of the reports of resignation of Ashraf Ghani from Presidency.

Pakistan’s special representative for Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq confirmed the arrival of the delegation.

Both Ambassador Sadiq and Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul Ambassador Mansoor Ahmed Khan received the delegation at the Islamabad airport on Sunday.

The members include Salauddin Rabbani, Muhammad Younais Qanooni, Ustad Muhammad Karim Khalili, Ahmed Zia Masood, Ahmed Wali Masood, Abdul Latif Pedram and Khalid Noor.

The delegation would meet Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah mehmood Qureshi, Speaker National Assembly Asad qaiser and Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.
