For the Taliban to create a worthy influence on any of the Muslim world, they first need to build a country for the world to witness, and not just some country but a country based on Islamic values with full economic independence and justice, education, equality, growth, and peace, If they fail which they will for many reasons the world will see them as nothing but backward cave-dwelling people who are stuck in the 1980s.

IMO the US isn't the kind of country to 'let things go.' I wonder (even if it's via Pakistan) if Washington feels it got enough leverage or strings to manage the Taliban, hence the step-back.

In other words the biden administration puts a final nail on the coffin of the mayor of kabul.
With more prisoners being released now the taliban have a bigger army to fight with the puppet afghan government for removing them and forming their own government.
