Breaking: Google achieves ‘quantum supremacy’

Let us see how long Google can keep its computer quantum supermacy "safe" from the Chinese intellectual property stealers .

Ghost post! Google creates world’s most powerful computer, NASA ‘accidentally reveals’ ...and then publication vanishes

Fortune obtained a copy of Google's paper, which was posted to NASA.gov earlier this week before being taken down. The Financial Times first reported the news.

A Google spokesperson declined to confirm the authenticity of the paper and its results. NASA did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

A source at Google familiar with the situation suggested, however, that NASA accidentally published the paper early, before its team's claims could be thoroughly vetted through scientific peer review, a process that could take anywhere from weeks to months.

If the paper holds up under the scrutiny of the scientific community, it will herald a watershed moment in quantum science. Its central claim counters doubt that some unforeseen law of nature may prevent quantum computers from operating as hoped.

It sounds more like NASA has finished their review and written a report giving Google a thumbs up. Now they are looking for yet another party to double-check so they yanked the NASA report.

Google has enlisted NASA to help it prove quantum supremacy within months

The firm will pit its Bristlecone quantum processor against a classical supercomputer early next year and see which comes out on top.

Pakistani trolls using the internet which is a U.S invention to bash U.S.
How amusing.
the guy who was saying US is evil and all her inventions are to harm mankind made me laugh. Without US creating the internet, none of us will even be on here in the first place.
Anyway, these troll comments doesn't change the underlying realities of country. The world moves on and U.S has indeed made life easier for mankind through all the inventions these past decades.

All I can say is stand in some modern city in Asia and look at all the items around you and think about who invented them...cars, bicycles, steel and glass skyscrapers, trains, subways, elevators, escalators, planes overhead, light bulbs, electricity, hydroelectric power, nuclear power, solar cell power, cell phones, TVs, radio, computers, internet, air conditioners, microwave oven, refrigerators, washing machines, eyeglasses, plastic, blue jeans, sneakers, the zipper, Velcro, and snaps on your synthetic clothes, agricultural machines, etc. The list is huge. All Western..and mostly from the US.

I think this supremacy is temporary and china may soon develop more powerful quantum computer

The whole idea of a quantum computer was Western.

The whole idea of a quantum computer was Western ...and an American one.

There is no such thing called as western.u.s is country of immigrants and many students from asia and other third world countries who are working in u.s institutes are playing major role in research and development so they can also develop same technology in their own country when environment and economic condition is favourable like in china

Hopefully AI evolves to the point when it can provide a solution to plastic waste and world hunger. Singularity is scheduled for 2045?

Maybe, maybe not. Either way and with respect, I don’t think you’re a fortuneteller my friend.

Yuri Manin is Russian... Therefore not completely Western.

Yuri Ivanovitch Manin (Russian: Ю́рий Ива́нович Ма́нин; born February 16, 1937) is a Russian mathematician, known for work in algebraic geometry and diophantine geometry, and many expository works ranging from mathematical logic to theoretical physics. Moreover, Manin was one of the first to propose the idea of a quantum computer in 1980 with his book "Computable and Uncomputable".[1]

Hunger and poverty will increase more due to AI as automation will increase joblessness,it will mostly benefit capitalist who are owner of AI companies like google

Some of the most ubiquitous inventions are simple with no need for a college degree. All it takes is somebody tinkering and thinking of a clever solution to a problem. The following are simple Western inventions that are used throughout the world every day and could have been made by someone in almost any country...no need for any type of technological level.
