Alarming? For me personally, not really. I spent time in the ME in my USAF days and had a taste of the rather primitive mentality there. It did surprised me as a young airman quite naive about the rest of the world. But then again, everyone goes thru that stage in life where we have and believe in the best of motives from our fellow men, no matter which part of the world, and even in our own backyard. The commonality of believing in these loony conspiracy theories can be distracting enough, but the real investigation should be on the individual cultures as to why would a culture and sub-culture tends towards these beliefs.A few quick questions;
As an American, do you find it alarming that Muslim apologists/fundamentalists are tapping into loony American right-wing propaganda to serve their own agendas?
As for my American friends who do not have the same foreign experience as I have, then yes, it is alarming. To them, not only is it bad enough that they have to put up with Alex Jones, Steven Jones, and their ilk on one side, ideological foes like Noam Chomsky on another side, white supremacists on another side, now it is our resident Muslims.
As for the Jews and Israel, I have no emotional ties to either. I support Israel out of pure geopolitical considerations from the Cold War. This support is further strengthened by my own experience with Israel after I left the USAF and had my first in-country experience with Jews and Israelis. My first foreign client was Intel/Israel when I used to work for Santa Clara Plastics as a field engineer. We installed and upgrade robotics for silicon wafer processing. Our client list contains major names like TI, Motorola, and even Japanese Toshiba and South Korean Samsung. Difference between Israel and the rest of the ME is like day and night.
Yes and yes. They should.Shouldn't such material be treated on par with Islamist radical literature that could possibly be used to instigate militant action on the United States? Can one assign such radical right-wingers to the same pedestal as Islamic terrorists as they seem to be working towards the same end?
