SRINAGAR: A bomb explosion killed an Army soldier and wounded three others on Thursday close to the cease-fire line between India and Pakistan, an Army spokesman said.
The improvised explosive device hit an Army patrol in Jammu & Kashmir's Poonch district, said Manish Mehta, the spokesman. The area, which is heavily guarded by the Army, is about 180 kilometers (110 miles) southwest of Srinagar.
The Army believes the device was planted by insurgents. India accuses Pakistan of training and arming insurgents for attacks in its portion of Kashmir, a charge Pakistan denies.
