I liked Arjun and Prahaar both of which do not glorify gang life but seek to oppose it.

Look when you make the film with utmost honesty and don't deviate from the main subject it won't look like glorification, you will never get that feel when you will watch Vastav or my personal favorite - Apharan which has Ajay devgan & Nana in it , made by prakash Jha, movies like Apharan are simply showing the mirror to society , you never feel its any glorification, it has good acting &a tight screenplay.

I din't like wasseypur because it has a bit too much gory violence and bit too much of philosophy, it tries to make criminals look like some deep thinkers which they ain't.

The same problem I saw in other OTT products which came out recently, Sacred games, pathallok & Mirzapur. Descent acting we can say but too much of violence , sex & philosophy , its like they invented some standard formula now to make such films & will declare it themselves as hit or cult on twitter, there is no depth in story or characters.

And while 'closing of ranks' is there is case of the SSR case, while going through the Wikipedia page for Black Friday I found a nice thing about one of its senior-in-age actors by name Savi Sadhu. It seems he had to take up a watchman's job because he was jobless. Nothing wrong in a watchman's job though it is not as high-paying as an actor, typically. The industry took upon itself to help him. This is the article.

I know this story, I remember he played the role of a sikh cop in black friday. Look although I am happy they helped him, but there are so many like him who don't get work despite their talent, he looks like a fine actor to me, there must be plenty of roles he can play. Only chamchas of big actors who give them company in nashebaazi or act like their sidekicks thrive.

Actors like him remaining jobless exposes a larger problem, bollywood is very feudal in the way it operates, their feudalism & nepotism is the reason for talent not able to surface, people like this Johar & YRF corner distributors & won't let small experimental films get screens, all this is the reason why bollywood hasn't been able to generate enough jobs or content and then involvement of mumbai underworld plus useless Sena politicians making things more worse. Bollywood needs to be cleaned-up , otherwise it will rot & die a slow death.

Another film from Jha and Devgan that I liked is Gangaajal.

And there are the other good police stories : Sehar, Dev and Khakee.

Hi,

There is a lot of unnecessary bashing in indian media about bollywood. Should we take advantage of it and start blaming bollywood as a whole?
We can say it is a hub of money laundering (if so) , drug cartel etc so people should ban it.. I am not talking about drug consumption but as network.
I mean indian themselves blaming bollywood, i think we should jump in pointing towards their prime industry and malign India as a whole?
