Blame China? Why not to blame yourself first !

This Rohingya crisis has driven Bangladesh crazy, they are attacking and blaming everyone in the region. Especially China, India and Pakistan.

Yet they still won't even give the Rohingya refugee status?

If the homeland of Bengali Muslims won't give them refugee status then who will?

Bangladesh is the most potential country for the economic success in this region thanks to her hardworking people and political stability. War and conflicts could only destroy the best chance for this success that is almost within reach, hope you don't get too emotional and ruin your very promising future.

Yes surely, our people are very anti-conflict and don't have the time to bicker for it as well as we have our own internal issues to handle. However, none of those issues are as big and will be sorted out with time. We have no visible dire enemies who are after our existence too but that mentality has taken its toll in terms of lower defense spending. All the members here are asking is for BD to take its lesson from this issue and work to save our very own back by being self-reliant.

I am sure and hope you would agree too that, if we lower major defense purchases and collaborations with China over the future and simultaneously diversify defense deals with other potential countries and build our own military complex, that would not hamper the relation BD-China enjoys as there are much more sectors and potential collaborations to look forward to. Its all interests at the end of the day and I think we both understand and appreciate that.

BD is taking all refugees from Myanmar, whether Muslims or Hindus

Plans have even been put in place to convert an uninhabited island to house many hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas since BD is so overpopulated already. This will cost over a hundred million dollars and so not an insignificant sum for a country as poor as BD.

Even though BD is poor all shelter, food and medical needs of the refugess will be met through BD's own resources if necessary.

BD is not blaming China but disappointed in it's siding with Myanmar. It did expect neutrality and so UN could impose sanctions on Myanmar.

Unlike US and Russia, Arms sale is the least trade we do around the world, we built this trading empire with consumer products. arms sale is almost negligible. I m pretty sure that our government understands your concern and is trying hard to broker a deal among relevant governments and I noticed that Myanmar government recently asked those refugees to come back home and promised to provide security. It won't be solved overnight but it's for the benefits of everyone in this region to sort it out soon.

The problem is that the Bangladesh government's official policy is to return all the Rohingya to Myanmar as soon as possible.

That is because it fears rightly that Myanmar wants them to never return.
Out of around 2.5 million Rohingya only around 0.5 million are still in Myanmar and most of the exiled 2 million Rohingyas have not been in Myanmar for decades.

You get an idea of Myanmar's intentions when it would not even given them citizenship. This is strange as they used to be even be Cabinet Ministers in Myanmar just after independence after WW2.

BD proposes a UN safe zone as Myanmar state cannot be trusted. I fear when the dust settles that maybe 10s of thousands of Rohingya will be known to have been killed. And this all for a few hundred rag-tag insurgents who mainly did not even have guns.

1.Attendees of OBOR Forum from South Asia nations:

Pakistan: PM, Srilanka: PM, Nepal: Vice PM.
India and Bhutan: Non, BD : An irrelevant minister, slightly better than India and Bhutan.

2. Military treaty with India, Grant a lot of sub contracts to India companies from 24 billion Chinese loan project, share Chinese money with indian hands.

3. Sonadia deep sea port project cancelled, Hmmm, due to pressure from India, US and Japan,
While Srilanka and Myanmar got no pressure from India, US and Japan when gave China Sea ports, Oil and Gas pipe lines. Now, we have sea ports in Pakistan,Srilanka,Myanmar and military base in Djibouti, fair enough to do something in Indian ocean.

4. Talking about buy J10B but we only see large amout of deals with Su30 and Mig35.

China as BD's "most important, strategy, trustfully Friend" only in Words, but in reality we all know it is India first policy!!!
calm tits boy calm tits.... we would have been with you guys had you not supported burma..... you guys didn;t even support our independence,,,... who should be blamed for that/"? us?

You know, in my homeland of Ghor we call bangalis Ghulam / برده , Hindi Ghulam.

anyways, i was not there to insult Bengalis, the troll was continously insulting my country for no reason. Most bengalis here are good reasonable people.

Couple of points:

1. Exports to China can theoretically rise to that of the whole US/EU combined in the 2030s.
It won't.

2. As far as loans are concerned, BD really needs these loans to build up it's infrastructure now. China is offering loans of 2-2.5% interest with 5 year grace period. In contrast the one for Roopur nuclear power plant that BD is getting from Russia is at 3.5-4% but with a 10 year grace period. Yes BD can look elsewhere but it will be very difficult to get those terms. There is always the risk with loans from China or anywhere else but the terms that China is providing is very good, short of the ones that Japan, ADB would provide.

While China has let BD down by not abstaining, we should not get overly emotional and ruin relations with China that still can assist BD economic and military development for it's own interests.
I'm not talking about ruining relation with China. We will retain good relation with China and you'll see it. But really how much 1% advantage and 5 addition years of grace period is worth?

Great, then I believe we are on the same page. I look forward to China pulling strings behind the scene and convincing Burma in taking back their people at the earliest.

NK never did good and China doesn't want to be suicidal Soviet Union. NK doesn't want to follow China's path despite of intensive persuasion work made by successive Chinese leaderships during 3 decades and stubbornly sticks to old Soviet style. It's a miracle that it didn't collapse just like the Soviet Union.
NK had a better GDP per capita than SK till the late 80's. They industrialized fairly early. But were too dependent on Soviet and China on support. After Soviet went down they only had China. And now you know how they are. The whole world knows China's relation with NK. You don't need to brainwash anyone.

Why they'd even try to do that? No one bothers about others problem. They have absolutely no reason or interest to try that.

See, we are all disappointed at their public stance on this issue. No denying that. However, my guess is that China did so to avoid US/EU from getting any access/foothold in the region's natural resources and corridor to BoB. That probably also explains why Russia did it too. But we also cannot deny that China has massive interest in BD as well and we are talking about billions here. $40 billions just last visit is simply one example. Hence, it could be possible that after their public stance, they listen to our concerns and works it out with Myanmar behind the door. Its not impossible as we are talking about interests worth billions of $$$.

Get your facts straight, more than once we tried to convince them to adopt our open door policies right after we took this path and more than once they refused. They are afraid of losing their power once they follow China's reform. Stubbornly sticking to Soviet style managing the country is exact reason for this mess and you blame China for mismanaging their country? How ridiculous.
