Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday issued show cause notices to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and the Sindh Minister for Prisons Manzoor Wassan over the mismanagement of Thar situation.

According to a statement of the party, Shah, who is also the provincial president of the PPP and Wassan the deputy general secretary of the party in Sindh, have been asked to file a written response to the notice.

According to the PPP, the notices were issued after television reports of a report being filed about the crisis in Thar.

Anti corruption department in its report had listed massive irregularities, negligence on the part of various government departments in dealing with droughts in Tharparkar district.

The drought in Thar has claimed 234 lives, including infants and children.

So now all of a sudden both PPP and PMLN have become "aware" of the fact that they have to deliver in their dynastic provinces this time or face complete extinction by PTI in next elections! Jeez, Imran Khan, what have you done to this status quo? PPP top ministers are now getting show cause notices for their obvious poor performance by unelected party chairman, a burger kid!

I am amazed at complete fragmentation of Pakistani society, some how resorting to name calling is supposed to make one feel superior?
Our collective display of indifference is truly mind numbing, PPP is a symbol of dynastic politics as much PTI is or for that matter every single political party operating in Pakistan.
What comes to my mind is a epilogue by Javied Chaudry during one of his shows, where he stated every single politician in Pakistan claims to be capable of changing destiny of Pakistan but only if he is made a prime minister, other wise nothing. The sequence of tragedies unfolded in Pakistan over the last decade have truly made us indifferent. There seems to be nothing too atrocious or too gruesome to wake us up from our collective slumber because we are so used to it. So much for change.
