Are solar panels being adopted by more people as the price of grid electricity goes up. If the cost of electricity from the grid is high enough, and people adopt solar panels it could really incentivize domestic solar panel production. Gifting people solar panels maybe the future of wedding gifts.

I have a few of my relatives who shifted to solar and they're actually sending more to the grid via Net Metering. The price remains high for most people though. A 2.5 kW system will send off 35 units almost every day to the grid in the peak summer months.

Average consumption of middle-upper income households (10 marla) with at least 3-4 AC's is around 1300-2000 units per month. You can get a 5 kW system installed for around 650K including panels / inverter etc and it will export around 50+ units everyday therefore minimizing your bill.

Initial transfer to Net metering is a hassle (2-3 months of documentation, running around the government offices) and it costs around 1.5-2 lac.

yeah ppeople are. I recently shifted my factory, farm and house all on complete solar! This is the only way now. electricity is too damn expensive.

govt could help by providing people low interest loans to setup solar systems in their homes.

In karachi, pti govt is now providing home loans scheme 40lacs,60lac and 1 crore

In the UK from time to time govt offers grants towards the cost of green incentives like insulation. I don't think we can afford that in Pakistan, but small loans to help setup solar panels on existing homes would definitely help.

Also i think there should be regulation enforcing them as mandatory on new homes. In the UK you cannot legally sell a home that doesn't have gas, electricity, running water and i think a bathroom/kitchen.

Can you post your feasibility report please and product detail?

Loans are the F word in Pakistan. Banks asking for cash collateral or property collateral for solar financing like agr paise hote to loan q lena tha SMH.

This is from Bank Al Falah Solar Financing page lmao
