From Who they need to guard themselves?
What is the relevance of digging trenches in modern warfare ! Please answer if you have a military background.
Can you please provide an example of threnches in a modern military except COIN situations which never had exposure to Soviet/communist influences at anytime in their history ?I don't have a military background, but I will try to respond nonetheless. For border guards, who will be encountering the initial Intruders most likely armed with mortars and small arms only, but no heavy armored vehicles, I think the trenches are still relevant as defensive position against infantry.
Even if the Intruders bring in heavy armour, the trenches can be effectively used to place anti tank infantry units.

Yup.
Another PDF fagget.
Watch carefully. It is no trench. It is a trap waiting for the blind guys like you to fall in it. This was successfully implemented by our civilian troops, Mukti Bahini, in 1971. Our enemy troops saw only grass but not the hole beneath it.What is the relevance of digging Soviet era trenches in modern warfare ! Please answer if you have a military background.

By the way, these are not trenches. These have been dug and grasses were turfed over them in order to trap the intruding enemy in them. Trenches are long and zigzag almost continuous for hundreds of yards where the defenders hide from enemy attacks and fire their weapons.
