Bengali Language compulsory in West Bengal Schools.

This move comes after a similar decision was taken by the government in Kerala. In April this year the Kerala government promulgated an ordinance making Malayalam compulsory in all schools of the State. Tamil is compulsory for years in Tamil Nadu.

Political observers, however, refuse to see it as a mere academic decision. “The decision clearly indicates an attempt by the TMC to encourage regionalism and reap political dividends out of it. By playing on the Bengali sentiment, the TMC wants to counter the rise of the Bharatiya Janata Party which is widely perceived as a north India party,”

Some Hind-ians who want all states to make Hindi compulsory are opposed to states making state language compulsory.

Why we need to discuss an internal India issue on a Pakistani forum. We have really got some idiot Indians who bring petty politician discussion and open threads on them. Do you want to wash your dirty lenine in public.

Are you ashamed of what is happening in your country? I see thread on praising India's GDP etc. You did not say a word against those posts.

These are events of international interest. Anyone will post about GDP, there are threads where there is comperative analysis. That is not local news, that is international news.

I agree now, his language also shows he is probably using Indian flag to spread anti-India news.

How does my language show? Explain yourself.

When did I use Indian flag? Tell me or keep quiet.

What does this thread have of international significance? "3 years of Modi government: An open letter to PM"

Think before you post

Its a local news, I did not read the details at all. I was just curious who and why is posting such a trivial news on this forum. Why that person is reading such news and finding interest in it.

In order for a nation to prosper it needs a uniform language which all citizens can speak fluently. Unfortunately, India's embrace of multilingual policies make communication difficult between Indians of different regions. South Indians and Northeasterners cannot comprehend Hindi which is suppose to be the national language. The solution is to either have English has the national language or enforce Hindi in places like South India.

Learning more than 2 languages is not practical
I see English being the official language and the national language in the long run
