Believe It Or Not! Madhya Pradesh Is All Set To Have Astrologists Treat Patients In OPD

Oh really you want to bring in madarsa and minority appeasement? I can bring in hell lot of shit about Hindus eating up my tax money. Lets not get into that. Stay relevant to topic. If you have nothing to defend this idiotic move by your Sanghi government, don't keep endlessly ranting about minority appeasement.

I have seen many Sanghis keep on ranting about minority appeasement but when grilled into what is it all about, they go into their hole.

Muslims 'educationally most disadvantaged' among minorities: Panel
The Myth of Muslim Appeasement

LOL even after so much "appeasement", muslims seem to be at the bottom. So much for appeasement...

The only one ranting here is you, taking subsidies from Hindus to do Haj and talking about draining tax money :lol: you people are piece of work. Muslims are at the bottom because of neglect of education and having 4-5 kids who they can only provide Madrasa education. Instead on ranting here all day on a Pakistani forum it would be better if you can do something constructive for your community.

I don't think I invited you on this thread. It was you who barged in ranting about how "fake" this news article is. So I can see who's ranting here:azn:. Most of the Hajj subsidy goes to the ailing Public sector airlines for their exorbitant air fares. Such a hogwash in the name of "subsidy"

The Myth of the Haj Subsidy
Apart from the Haj, India subsidises a range of pilgrimages -
most of them Hindu
'Govt funds only to Hindu pilgrim sites' - Times of India

Care to speak about the multiple yatras of Hindus where Government throws in state resources... Naah that's not expected from Bhakts and Sanghis.

Its the state's responsibility to look after the weaker section, so Government instead of flushing money on Gau Bhakti and its shit should work for the education/welfare of its citizens.

'Just 2% students go to madrasas. What is the government doing for the other 98%?'

Sanghis and their ignorance:hitwall::hitwall:

But I guess that's expected since they feed on fake news:lol:

You are free to believe in what you want, people are free to believe in what they want. Our ancient Sages (okay not yours) calculated distance between Planets, Time of Solar/Lunar eclipses etc 3000+ years back with pinpoint accuracy whereas even Westerners hung poor Galileo 350 years back because he said Earth is round and not flat. People want to get benefited from this ancient wisdom it's their choice, you are free not to visit Astrologers or do Yoga etc.

Extending freedom to believe whatever we want to healthcare is dodgy at best. It's a value judgement, really. Even if your claims about ancient astronomy are taken at face value, they have nothing to do with pathology. Astrology is not the same as astronomy in any case. To quote support for astrology based on astronomy would be akin to enlisting chemistry for the defence of alchemy.

Belief in pseudoscience can be to the detriment of health outcomes and anyone who advocates the same is a dangerous obscurantist.

In a rather bizarre move, the Madhya Pradesh is set to have astrology OPDs (out-patient departments) in which astrologers and such soothsayers will provide consultation to patients.

According to a report in The New Indian Express, the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government will flag off the scheme in September.

The report said that astrologers, vastu experts, palmists and proponents of Vedic karmakanda will delve deep into the horoscopes and lifelines of patients, for three to four hours twice a week.

Patients seeking astrological diagnosis will pay a registration fee of Rs 5.

“Like OPDs where junior doctors work under the supervision of seniors, aspiring astrologers will be assisted by experts in dealing with cases in the astro OPDs,” MPSS director P R Tiwari told New Indian Express.

The astrologers will study the planetary combinations and changes reflected in the horoscopes of patients.

The prognosticators will also analyse the diseases of the patients who come without horoscopes using the prashna kundali technique.

It is really a great thing. There are many health issue solutions lie in many other therapies. We need to explore them without bias.

Why government need to do anything saperately for Muslims? Are they banned from studying in any schools where Hindu children study?

Believing in superstition and enduring years and years of medical curriculum are somehow the same thing now.
This govt. is leaving no stone unturned to be scientifically regressive, the painful part is that a majority of my fellow Indians would welcome moves such as this and then we think of competing with China and the powers of the world

Need more people like you in this country brother. Few realize what a bastion of regressive superstitious believes this part of the world actually is

Sub continent as a whole is a superstitious society.

How is it different to numerologist who are Mulzims and this phenomenon is on the rise in Pakistan as well.

Horoscopes and all that shizz.
There are some forms of superstitions in every part of the world. Not just Asia. Chinese, though mostly atheist are superstitious AF.
Same with the Malays and Thai's. All have some forms of their ancient superstition, passed on.

:lol: We are on a open forum and I don't think you own the same to formulate rules here now? Tons of money spend after you guys by likes of Congress and SP governments are not drain on tax money but some chillar spend on some program to promote Astrology is??? Are you even from MP that the state government is using your money? On one hand you claim Muslims are most backward (thus don't pay much tax) on the other hand bragging about your tax money :lol:. If you want to give color to tax paid then a majority of 3827 crores allocated for Minority Affairs in the budget is the paid by Hindu taxpayer over which you people enjoy. Bloody hell be it educational institutes or Jails you people get an unfair share and here you are speaking about tax payers money.:lol:

Astrologers don't practice medicines. People don't visit Astrologers and say I have an upset stomach prescribe me something. At most they recommend gemstones thus they can be classified in to alternate healing therapy or energy healing. Even Homeopathy uses concepts of Astrology and Chakras, not to mention Ayurveda.

Yes, we wish to compete with the West and China without knowing what makes them tick. Scientific enquiry and modern institutions form the backbone of every successful state today. Trying to rehash a Vedic civilization in the 21st century is no different than the project initiated by al Baghdadi.

South Asia has a tenuous relationship with modernity, just as the Middle East. Reasons wary from the ill-effects of colonialism to the humiliation of being beaten hollow by the scientific revolution. Playing catch-up is not difficult, as Japan and Korea have shown. But cognitive dissonance will not work. You have to give to science that which is its domain and not try to hijack it with tales of ancient glory.

Good to hear that astrology is an integral part of homeopathy and ayurveda. Still does not address the issue of efficacy. How does it work? What proven scientific principles underlie it? Do these findings get published in peer-reviewed journals and withstand the scrutiny of the scientific community? How is astrology any different from the well-established fraud of faith healing?

Did anybody say Astrology is going to replace medicine? There are many Alternate Healing Therapies that are touted as alternative to medicine. Astrology on the other hand is not about only good health or holistic well-being but has far wider significance. I hope you know what Astrology is and how it works. The fact is that some presstitues are twisting a simple news and projecting as if the Sanghi government in MP is promoting some ancient Hindu thing as an alternative to modern medicine etc. Now some people are too blind or have hate filled heads so see through such mischievous reporting, I hope you are not one of them.

Your very source says the following...

Even though astrologers won’t be assisting doctors, the government is backing the claim that the stars can cure medical problems.

So what is the relation between Astrology and medicine/health?

Do read the following..

Why Astrology Is A Pseudoscience

Nothing wrong in it, as long as the govt is not imposing it on anyone.

Now go mock this too ....
Prayers really can heal the sick, finds international study

I am open to suggestions as far as how alternative medicine works. Meditation and yoga, for example, have very obvious benefits. It is not difficult to understand how relaxation and controlled breathing (meditation) and core strengthening (yoga) can contribute to well-being.

I am not convinced about astrology because of the stated mechanism. Until we discover the scientific basis for these claims, they will remain in the realm of pseudoscience.

As for maligning the government of MP, I am still not clear of the real picture. What has been decided?

The problem with Astrology nowadays is dime a dozen hobby/fake Astrologers at every corner of the road. So, this initiative by MP government wherein they are promoting Astrologers who have really studied Astrology is a welcome one.

That's true. But somehow somewhere some lines should be drawn.

Although I honestly believe that this particular case has little to do with superstitions but there is method to this madness.
