BDS attempts to defuse 5-8kg bomb near imambargah in Karachi

KARACHI: Bomb disposal squad (BDS) personnel are attempting to defuse a remote-controlled bomb planted near an imambargah in Orangi Town, Express News reported on Thursday.
The bomb was planted in a block and was placed near Ali Imambargah. People who saw the suspicious block informed police who then identified it as a bomb and the BDS were called to the scene.
According to BDS sources, the bomb contains 5kg to 8kg of explosives and has a cellphone placed inside it which was going to be used to detonate it.
The imambargah, where people had just started arriving, was evacuated and so was the surrounding area.
Just today, BDS in Peshawar also defused two bombs planted on the main GT Road, an area that has seen many attack on law enforcement agencies.
Karachi witnessed twin blasts at Jamia Masjid-o-Imambargah Haider-o-Karrar in the Orangi Town neighbourhood yesterday.
The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) also claimed responsibility for twin bomb attacks targeting Shias in Karachi and Rawalpindi, which killed 25 people.

Two more bombs defused from Peshawar.

BDS defuses two bombs in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Bomb Disposal Squad, on receiving tip offs, defused two explosive devices on the main GT Road in Peshawar on Thursday, reported Express News.
According to Express News correspondent Yasir Ali, the first bomb was planted under the flyover opposite the city university and it was camouflaged among the footpath blocks.
The police cordoned off the area as the squad began searching for another bomb which was defused as well. The second bomb was also planted on the footpath.
The two bombs, when they were defused, caused small explosions. However, no injuries were reported.
The area has now been declared clear.
People gathered around the area and clapped to appreciate the security officials’ efforts of successfully defusing the bombs.

Good to see the use of these bomb suits, it was on full display in the bomb defusing of the suicide jacket from a 12 year old boy, also in Peshawar.
