Anyway, do not you guys forget Andaman and Nicobar islands now occupied by India. It will be our overseas territory governed directly by the federal govt.

What exactly are you guys smoking when posting things like these ?

We want you to be the PM of India. It will help our economy.

If we stop all tourists from Bangladesh these tourists may go to other countries like Singapore, Sri Lanka or Thailand to spend their money. It will not really help your economy or ours. Most of the tourists from Bangladesh come to India are here to meet their relatives or for medical treatment. Some are business men who do trade.

For past two decades India has attracted tourists from all parts of the world for medical treatment. It is 8 billion dollar industry and Bangladesh is among the top countries to send medical tourists. Some estimates put 35-50% of the tourists from Bangladesh are medical tourists.

Number one reason they come to India is better medical facilities and trained manpower. They travel to all major capital cities of India to get treated. We make it affordable and cheap compared to other medical destinations.

So, if you train proper medical staff and provide better medical facilities in your country, you will retain all the dollars these patients spend in your neighbor's country. You have lot of work to do to stop this outflow of your capital.

Medical hospitals and facilities specializing in excellent higher grade tertiary care do exist in Bangladesh. The main problem is that their fees are much more expensive compared to India.....what we need to learn from Indians is how to cut corners to make services cheaper, which doesn't come naturally to Bangladeshi people. This is a necessary skill in secondary and tertiary care practices....

According to the report, every year 20 million people seek medical support from hospitals in Bangladesh. While around 165,000 patient goes to India for treatment. So we are giving treatment to 120 times more patients within Bangladesh than who are going to India.Hype around Bangladeshi patients flocking to India is exaggerated.Read these portion from these articles-

https://www.imtj.com/news/india-medical-tourism-statistics-released/
In total in 2015-2016 Indian hospitals had 460,000 international patients - while medical visa figures were less than half of that. It is hard to be precise, as medical visa figures tend to be by calendar year compared to the financial year figures that the report uses.

While one in three foreign patients in Indian hospitals were from Bangladesh, at 165,000 - only 58,300 of these were true medical tourists on a medical visa.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University pharmacology professor Sayedur Rahman said that about 2 crore people fell ill every year in Bangladesh and the number of patients going abroad for treatment was so minimal.

He said that many patients who went India were for a ‘second check.’ When patients find that their illness have already gone beyond treatment, they go to India or other countries seeking if any last option is available, he said.

The results have revealed that India, in spite of socio-economic growth in the given time-period, has not managed to achieve its goals in health care department.

A report published on Thursday by Global Burden of Disease in The Lancet has revealed that India has recorded a poorer health care index than several neighboring Asian nations, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and China in last 25 years. The data, in the report, takes a look at 195 countries, between the years 1990-2015, and assesses the measuring mortality rates from 32 diseases which should not be fatal in presence of effective medical care. The results have revealed that India, in spite of socio-economic growth in the given time-period, has not managed to achieve its goals in health care department.

As per the report, India’s health care index has seen an increase of 14.1 in last 25 years, going up from 30.7 in 1990 to 44.8 in 2015, but the numbers are much lesser than Sri Lanka (72.8), Bangladesh (51.7), Bhutan (52.7) and Nepal (50.8). The report shows that India has performed the worst in preventing deaths by Neonatal disorders, with an index rate of 14.

In dealing with rheumatic heart diseases, India has scored an index of 25; in tuberculosis, an index of 26, and in chronic kidney diseases, an index of 20. Diabetes (38), Appendicitis (38) and Peptic ulcer disease (39) are other major area of concerns for India’s health department. Pakistan and Afghanistan remain the only SAARC nations to have a lower ranking than India, with a healthcare index of 43.1 and 32.5 respectively, as per the report.
