BBC: Vietnam will stage first F1 race in 2020

Did Vietnam just pull out of the Asian Games 2018 due to financial trouble and let Indonesia shine brightly at the event?

And yet china holds one in shanghai...:/

Was the indian F1 organisation in bankruptcy after holding the GP briefly?

No but that doesnt mean its not costly affair to maintain an international track made for F1 recognised by FIA.
the company that owned and managed the track went into litigation for unfair practices over handing over the possession of apartments to buyers. So doesnt have enough money to organise an F1 race. But they do organise small ticket events and hand out of private runs.

Other thing is, to hold a race, remuneration to be given to FIA is decided beforehand and its a fixed amount which increases year on year. Which makes it risky in country like India where there isnt much fan following for this sport.

By smaller i wasnt talking about population, i was pointing to economy. OFC experts will make the decision regarding the circuit or road track.
I personally think road track is the way to go.

F1 will cost $50 million a year. That is not much. Hanoi can host a circuit while Saigon a street race. Ok before some people laugh, that is feasible as demonstrated recently in May.
