Bangladesh’s Submarines From China: Implications For Bay Of Bengal Security – Analysis

.
I am actually happy seeing a small economy purchase expensive submarines.

This mean less money for the government to spend on increasing the infrastructure of its market, losing competitive advantage to the India and Chinese industries.

Yet we only spend aprox 1.2% of our GDP on defence and you spend over 2% of your GDP on defence....Oh and we have China, Japan and the EU for help in building our infrastructure....keep trying.

Nice troll post. You have been reported.
Thanks, I won't have any problem with it's deletion either if the "rational" post to which my "troll" responded; is also deleted. Well, besides the sarcastic style, I don't think there is any factual error or unrealistic thing in my post.

Around 1.6% actually, India spends probably the largest on soldiers salary and pensions. For infrastructure, I don't think we will need to "cry", we still have lot of change left in pocket.

And why you must not be happy for PRC & Japan? Cuz they don't make infrastructure in free.

Sarcasm aside, we have been continually broadsided by arrogant Indian posters. Check out your arrogance at the door and no one will have issues with you here.

LOL....India is one of the largest importers of defence equipment. We are spending heavy on our infra, infact as a proportion of population its now higher per capita. China and Japan are world leaders in developing infra and are investing heavy in Bangladesh.

As wages go up in China, a large number of those industries are now looking into shifting production to the 100+ EPZs that are being built in Bangladesh.....We expect to see our GDP grow from 7.1% to 8%-9% in the next couple of years.

.
The implication will show when we acquire the next pair - brand now and upgraded. These current two are for familiarization and training.

Before my arrogance, care to notice ignorance from your fellows.
LOL....India is one of the largest importers of defence equipment.
Still, Indian PSUs and companies are among largest manufacturers at same time. India imports because India needs more.
Downward share of defence last year by 15%, further down the road, 70% equipment has been procured or ordered from domestic vendors so far.

India's Weapon Exports have already been 6 times up in 2 years and will be among top 10 if target of 2017-18 is met.

India has been ranked third worldwide, alongwith 45k+ patents in WIPO, India is ranked third worldwide in Innovation chart, says about technical capabilities. Sorry, got off topic and started chest thumping.:P

My issue is not with that, declare yourself an autonomous part of PRC, even then, I won't care.

I'm Indian, obsessed with India and my question to you is about being "equal to India".:D

No offence but screenshot of your comment is increasing credibility of my "stupid comment" gallery which is eventually posted on jokes thread on our forums.

So, is India but not jumping over foreign investments.
13th 5 years plan, GST blah blah,
Double digit expansion, blah blah
... Only BD in the world isn't targeting 8-9% growth.

What ignorance did I show in my post? Perhaps, you do not even know that our present GDP is US$220 billion, and at present it is growing @7.1%. Why it is wrong to grow to a $1000 billion GDP when all the data point to that figure in about 20 years from now? Why should the Indians get jealous of us if we grow to that level?

By the time we keep on growing, ask your govt. to build many more dams to keep us dry, idiot!! Do not ever dream that Indian back stabbing will cause our GDP to stop growing.

Indications shows GDP may be growing 7.5-8% this fiscal.

We are not seeking equality with India. We want our per capita GDP to grow above that of India. we do not even look at the outdated India for inspiration. There is nothing that we can learn from India. We seek a higher level to become at least like Thailand and Malaysia, if not Singapore.

Now, you must not even ask about your ignorance.

Few hours ago, you said you wanna be equal to India militarily. Now, you are content in being a middle income economy like Thailand or Malaysia.
"Higher level" Seriously man,
you talked military and political level where Thailand and Malaysia don't stand anywhere near India.

For reaching half of India, Bangladesh needs to sustain today's growth for two more decades plus India must remain static. World's fastest growing major economy India won't grow for two decades (with actually faster growth outlook than BD), then you say you aren't ignorant.

What ignorance did I show in my post?
Look, this is called ignorance.
I do not know, what India has supplied to these tiny island nations in the Indian Ocean. But, when it is the duty of India to play DADAGIRI to these islands, it should not seek similar opportunities in BD. BD must talk with India from the same level and it will come at a time when its economy and military strength is at least half that of India. The GDP must reach the US$1.0 trillion level before BD can talk at the same level with India.
Won't blame you, Mongolians too are "preparing" to challenge Russia even Indian "debt" (they also call it investment).
It is only because India cannot so easily any more threat us with implied Dhamki.
I won't even have to post something for proof.

Look around your country, your flag waving on government owned buildings, the country for whose nationalism you joined this Forum, Bangladesh, which is an offspring of translation of Indian "dhamki" into a "dhamaka".

All we can conclude watching Bangladeshi posters like you that your "patriotism growth rate" has dwarfed your GDP growth. Always keep balance in both things buddy.;)

No serious offense intended (to Bangladeshi Nation, personal at poster)
