Bangladeshis Peacekeepers in Mali

People say APCs as death trap. A rocket launcher is enough to damage that.

cage armor supposedly gives some protection.

1. nigerian btr-4 with cage armor...

2. supposedly ukraine government caged btr-4 which withstood rocket attack...

3. another ukraine government btr-4... picture name says slavyansk... don't know about damage to people inside...

sorry, i didn't understand properly... you meant tiers as in levels of protection??
I think he meant tyres ..

1. are the pakistani apc derived from amercian??

2. are there tyre models of pakistan-made apc, instead of with tracks??

3. is the third vehicle south african??

4. is the fourth apc western?? i remember seeing someone make a post about this one.

Tyers also need some protection from bullets :D

tyres ( :D ) are i suppose a compromise... the apc has to be a off-road vehicle, whose tyre suspension needs room to bounce up and down... i think giving cage or panel protection to tyres will remove the apc from off-road category... i am just guessing. :)

I see BTR 80 wheels are well equipped against bullets :D

well, the photos i posted had the apc's being rocketed... btr-4 tyres can take care of bullets too, i think, but rocket shrapnel is another matter. :)

Then you still have to get permission to fire back! The French are lucky, they have different engagement rules

UN peace keepers are authorised to respond with force if they come under fire. No permission needed. They however can not engage even if they have reasonable evidence that they are about to be attacked. A national army like French forces in Mali can do that as they are not wearing UN badges.

Yes those are Pakistani APCs.
The third is an American made EOD (ordinance disposal) MRAP..

He last one is textron ASV n that post was about producing Dragoon IFV under licsense at HIT not this.. These are mostly in service with the police and FRONTIER CORPS..

Here is the Dragoon IFV Produced under licsense by HIT (Heavy Industries Taxila-Pak) :

Apparently our state run companies suck at advertising/marketing... @jamahir

We do use SA Caspir MRAP but in limited number 2 dozen+ .. Meanwhile American MRAPs are in service in large numbers .. Almost 300.

looks like brdm-2 with different side-door arrangement... i wonder if there are any surplus sales of apc somewhere and how much would they cost, and of course the local vehicle license issues...

pakistan's ispr seems to be quite famous at public relations, and generally i find pakistani media putting out good-looking photos of events or news with the caption and small detail written directly on the photo.

you should look at this funny exchange between zarvan and another person... i found this when i googled for dragoon ifv... (Production of Improved Version of Dragoon Armoured Fighting Vehicle started at HIT Taxila ).

i was reading about casspir, and it seems it is the inspiration for american mrap ( buffalo?? )... another thing is many militaries/paramilitaries ( like india ) began talking of mrap's only recently, but the south african casspir is from the apartheid era... 30+ years previous.

Man, those Buffaloes are sweet stuff.

The French and Malians have been doing a pretty decent job at tackling those madmen, unlike some others I could name

One day Bangladeshi Army will defeat the Indian army and will rule the India ....................and you will see that with your own eyes .

Seriously dude, that wasn't necessary.
